Afton Shavers (she/her)

Afton Shavers has worked in the public health industry for 10 years, gaining experience in mitigating health disparities, Black mental and maternal health, building interventions to address the impacts of place based racism on health, and centering equity. As a seasoned Chief Administrative Officer, she is passionate about advancing birth equity and reproductive justice. In addition to leading operations, she is also involved in community engagement and building sustainability for Birth Detroit. Outside of the office, Afton enjoys traveling, coffee, and a great playlist.
