Tyffanie Walton is the Ending the HIV Epidemic Community Health Educator at Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and loves helping people thrive, advocate for their health, and access equitable resources. She has spent the majority of her career in the healthcare industry, gaining experiences in areas such as infectious disease management, patient advocacy while fostering strong healthcare provider-patient relationships and community outreach. While health education is her primary job function by day, Tyffanie also enjoys advocating for the LGBTQ+IA community and actively participating in various social justice programs. What Tyffanie loves about living in Detroit, Michigan, is the vibrant and diverse community spirit. The city's resilience and the strong sense of community inspire her commitment to public health and advocacy. Her passion for expanding initiatives like the Pull Up Project (PUP), a mobile health unit, reflects her dedication to providing equitable and holistic healthcare services to underserved communities nationwide. Tyffanie's relentless efforts in championing public health earned her the Henry Ford Health Diversity Hero Award in 2018, showcasing her unwavering commitment to uplifting communities and fostering positive change.
