Blair Baker is the Advisor for Student Engagement in the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement at Wayne State University and loves helping people exercise empowerment, build community and coalition, and educate and advocate for justice. She has spent the majority of her career in the human services field, gaining experiences in areas such as identifying and sharing resources, facilitation, and event planning and organizing. While supporting the needs of students is their primary job function by day, Blair also enjoys collecting vinyl records and writing poetry.

Q: What is something you love about where you live?

A: Something I love about living in downtown Detroit is the strong sense of community. Detroiters have such a strong pride in our city and the fellowship and communal experience that is embedded in the culture here creates a home that exists beyond where we live.
