Q: What is something you love about where you live?

A: I love Detroit because the resiliency of the city is second to none. In spite of history’s challenges, we refuse to give up. We care about our community as we come together to tackle challenges head-on. Hence, the Detroit-owned brand Detroit Vs. Everybody by Tommy Walker has gone viral worldwide. The company speaks to that motto that we will come together and succeed against all odds. As a fellow graduate from Detroit’s public schools, I am driven by this same tenacity that sees the Detroit metro area as an opportunity to collaborate and rise up-not difficulty- and this is because of my resilient Detroit spirit that allows me to look for opportunities to connect with others to uplift the community and execute positive change. Nothing can stop the determination of a Detroiter.
