Director of Crisis Services and Education

Benita Robinson, LLMSW, has worked in the gender-based violence industry for seven years, gaining experience in leadership, program development, and program management. As the Director of Crisis Services and Education, she is passionate about advancing access to opportunities and upward mobility, especially for black women who has experienced sexual violence. In addition to her work at Avalon Healing Center, a nonprofit that provides comprehensive services for survivors of sexual violence, she is also involved in her local community council and radio patrol in the Bagley neighborhood in Detroit. Outside of the office, Benita enjoys spending time with her dog, Aries, listening to music, and travelling.
