Augusta Morrison

Augusta has worked in the arts industry for 12 years, gaining experience in public programming, community organizing, and event production. As a seasoned Program Strategist, they are passionate about advancing spatial equity and arts access. In addition to community engagement work, they are also involved in curating art and music shows. Outside of the office, Augusta enjoys playing music, meeting new people, and doing yoga.

Q: What is something you love about where you live?

A: I love the people I am in the community with. From my neighbors to the people I organize events with to the audience members that I get to play music for. I appreciate and respect the different types of spaces Detroit has to offer. I love Belle Isle, Eliza Howell Park, and the Great Lakes. I feel blessed to be surrounded by water. There's a magical feeling about that.
