LaTanya Bell is the Co-Executive Director at Wisdom Institute and loves helping people heal, advocating for justice for themselves and their communities, and educating around listening without judgment. She has spent the majority of her career working for Fortune 500 companies and paving her own way as an entrepreneur; however, her heart has always been in community advocacy and advancement of Black women and girls, gaining experience in areas such as leadership development, coalition building, policy and systems change, and spirit-centered, art-infused community engagement. While organizational leadership and advocacy strategy is her primary job function by day, LaTanya also enjoys creating spaces for deep listening and supporting artists and storytellers in amplifying community truth.

Q: What is something you love about where you live?
A: I love the way Detroit holds memory, struggle, and brilliance all at once. The people here carry a resilience that feels ancestral, and every neighborhood is rich with creativity, history, and community care. It’s a place where we don’t just survive; we build, dream, and rise together.
