Margo Dalal

Racial Equity Fellow — 2021 Cohort | DEAL 6

Margo is a co-founder of the Detroit Community Wealth Fund (DCWF) and is dedicated to participating in realizing a more equitable economy in Detroit and beyond. A Parsi Indian-American raised in Virginia, she holds a Bachelors in Liberal Arts from Hampshire College, and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan.

Margo's passion for supporting cooperatives emerged during a cross-country bike ride to learn about cooperative businesses with Co-Cycle in 2013. After arriving by bike, she has called Detroit home ever since. She is a founding member of The Tricycle Collective, a non-profit that prevented over 100 families from tax foreclosure in Detroit.

Currently Margo also directs the Detroit Kite Festival, serves on the board of the United Community Housing Coalition, and on the Social Entrepreneurship Committee at the School of Social Work at Wayne State University. In 2019, she was named a Crain’s Business 20 in their 20’s honoree.
