Barbara Kellom has worked in the nonprofit industry for over 25 years, gaining experience in youth program development, youth development and nonprofit management. As a seasoned administrator, she is passionate about advancing young people and championing their need to have a platform to express themselves.

In addition to youth programming, she is also involved in gaining greater insight into racial equity and diversity in various community spaces and and in society as a whole.

Barbara loves laughter, family, music, old movies and the successes of those she loves. She loves writing poetry, and is a published author.

Barbara dabbles in art and founded Griot & Grub, a storytelling event uniting Detroit notables their stories and the Detroit community over an intimate dinner of family and friends. Barbara is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.

Q: What is something you love about where you live?

A: I enjoy the familiarity of Detroit landmarks, its rich legacy of music, and the resilience of the people.
