What is Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)?

PPE is specialized clothing or equipment worn by an individual for protection against infectious materials. For COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends using gown, gloves, goggles or face shield, and surgical masks or N95 (preferred). Additional PPE may include shoe covers and bouffants.
