Instructor introduction
Hello. I’m Thammanoon Buphate, from Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), Thailand. Apart from teaching English to RMUTL students, I am also responsible for coordinating and organizing student exchange programs such as Youth Model ASEAN Conference (YMAC), Singapore Polytechnic Virtual Exchange Program (Understanding Cross Cultural Diversity), and Learning Express Program where I had an opportunity to learn “Design Thinking (DT)”. Through Learning Express Programs, I got a chance to work with lecturers from Thailand, Singapore, and Japan who are the experts in teaching DT and implementing its concepts to create social innovation for communities. In addition to participating in DT training programs and conferences to master my DT knowledge and skills, I also applied DT concepts in my English classes as a new challenge.
Unit course outline

2.POEMS observation framework (What is POEMS observation framework? Why do POEMS observation framework? and How to do POEMS observation framework?)
3.AEIOU observation framework (What is AEIOU observation framework? Why do AEIOU observation framework? and How to do AEIOU observation framework?)
4. Differences between POEMS observation framework and AEIOU observation framework
Unit course characteristics
Through observation process in Design Thinking, students will learn about what to look for when they do an observation. This unit aims to provide students effective observation skills using POEM and AEIOU observation techniques.
Unit course objectives
1. Understanding the observation process in Design Thinking
2. Being able to apply POEMS observation framework in social context
3. Being able to apply AEIOU observation framework in social context
