Instructor introduction
Hello everyone. I am your instructor, Jun-Hong Lin. I have 10 year experience working on promoting service learning, environmental education and sustainable development in Taiwan, furthermore, created environmental actions in the communities in Taiwan and Thailand. Youth power can help the communities to make good use of local resources in the sustainable actions. I believe the youth people can create good sustainable actions with the stakeholders of the communities to make the environment better.
Unit course outline
The ideals of slow movement coincide to the sustainable development. This course unit will introduce the development of sustainability in the world. The 2030 Agenda of UN introduced the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Goals and Targets will be discussed in three parts: social, economic and environment. Furthermore, this unit will be introduced the slow movement, such as OTOP, slow food, slow travel and slow town with SDGs.
Unit course characteristics
This course will inspire students to engage themselves to propose an action plan for resolving the dilemma in the communities. In this action plan, the students can learn to combine the ideal of slow movement and the SDGs in the actions for the communities.
Unit course objectives
1.Understanding the effect of sustainable development for the people
2.Understanding the Sustainable Development Goals (SFGs) as they relate to social, economic and environmental issues.
3.Combining the ideals of SDGs and slow movement.
4.Investigating the slow action with SDGs
