Determination, Incorporated is a Kansas City-based nonprofit creating a pathway to opportunity for formerly incarcerated people through entrepreneurship. We are working together to help people behind bars grow businesses.

Rise Up, Get Started entrepreneurship competitions will help formerly incarcerated people kickstart their entrepreneurial endeavors across three project categories: Do Good, This is a Test, & Fuel. You can learn more and help us grow the competitions here.

Be the Boss is a business support group for formerly incarcerated people. At each session, experts from the entrepreneurial community present followed by group discussion.

2nd and 4th Thursdays at UMKC Innovation Center, 6:30 PM: 4747 Troost, KCMO 64110

Kyle J Smith is the founder of Determination, Incorporated. He is an entrepreneurial ecosystem builder in Kansas City, Missouri. After two years with KCSourceLink, an internationally-replicated central hub for all things entrepreneurship, Kyle started Determination, Incorporated.

Kyle volunteers as a community organizer with 1 Million Cups Kansas City, the birthplace of the Kauffman Foundation-supported program, and a Startup Huddle ambassador with the Global Entrepreneurship Network.
