Desert Sky Outdoor School is a play-based preschool group located in Tempe, Arizona.
For children 2-7 yrs and their caregivers.
Beginning in September 2025 we are expanding our offerings with collaborative social learning classes geared towards our older 4-7 year olds.
All children regardless of age are invited to participate to the best of their ability in any classes offered. Those 3 and under are free to wander in and out as their attention span dictates. Those 4 and older will be encouraged to finish any 30 minute class they join before free play.
Upcoming Semester: Fall 2025 September-December
Meeting: Tuesdays 9am-2pm & Thursdays 9-11:30 am
(Registration Fees include all classes, snack & supplies)
1 day each week = $40 per month
2 days each week = $80 per month
Must be accompanied by a caregiver 18 yrs or older
2025-26 registration is full. Any interested parties will be added to our email list and contacted should an opening arise.

Rhythm of the Day (3 hrs)
Each session, our play & learning will include songs, stories and free explorations in our outdoor environment, along with 2 classes taught by subject area specialists, who are skilled in working with young children.
The leader of Desert Sky Outdoor Co-op will work together with attending caregivers and hired teachers to take the interests of the children into account when planning for purposeful play activities.
8:30-9:00 am-- Math Play Group (ages 3+)
9:00-9:15 am--Time for littles to acclimate and explore before opening circle
9:20-9:30 am -- Opening circle: Hello song and a story or rhyme as a group.
9:30-10:00 am -- Free play in our outdoor learning environment, including an option to join in our first 30 min. class of the day.
10:00am -- Snack is offered.
10:00-11:20 am--Free play in our outdoor learning environment. Including the option to join in our second 30 min. class of the day.
11:20-11:30 am-- Clean up & Closing circle: Goodbye song & share out as a group

Desert Sky Outdoor Co-op is seeking to:
Create a space for young children to experience high quality play and learning with their peers in a stimulating outdoor environment.
Collaborate with families who are choosing to educate their young children at home, but are looking for a supportive network of parent partners for themselves, and playmates for their children.
