The new format for making sure urls to apps open in Google Play is for example market://details?id=com.adobe.reader of course you'll need to look at the url in a browser to get the "com.?.?" part of the url.

Here is what I'm using in my web pages. It is based on JavaScript and jQuery. The idea is to search for 'android' sub-string inside browser's UserAgent and if that is the case - replace HTTP URI part with Android Market URI part, inside all links:

Developers will be able to make their content available on an open service hosted by Google that features a feedback and rating system similar to YouTube. We chose the term "market" rather than "store" because we feel that developers should have an open and unobstructed environment to make their content available. Similar to YouTube, content can debut in the marketplace after only three simple steps: register as a merchant, upload and describe your content and publish it. We also intend to provide developers with a useful dashboard and analytics to help drive their business and ultimately improve their offerings.

With the addition of a marketplace, the Android ecosystem is becoming even more robust. I am incredibly energized by the support and amazing content I've seen so far. We will share more details as they are available and I look forward to working with many of you in the coming months.

So I did some testing. if your initial action started from redirect (no matter window.location or http 302) it will show an error. but once i created a hyperlink to market:// and explicitly clicked it, it worked fine.

Attracting developer attention is a key part of the Google-led Android software effort, and those who produce applications will have an easy time getting them to the market, Eric Chu of Google's Android project said in a Thursday blog post.

"Similar to YouTube, content can debut in the marketplace after only three simple steps: register as a merchant, upload and describe your content and publish it," Chu said. "We chose the term 'market' rather than 'store' because we feel that developers should have an open and unobstructed environment to make their content available."

I was able to sign in however when I try to download an app I get the message "There are no android phones associated with this account. Please sign in with a different account." I've had this google account associated with my phone for almost a year now. What gives!?

i tried to install apps from web android..it says apps installed on air interface( as i linked market account with my android phone) but when i checked it on my phone its not installed...! i'm perplex..did i missed something ?

I really dislike that the market has regions for no apparent reason. I want to install japanese programs on my phone, what's so bad about that?

Marketenabler + installing from my phone for now...

I'm rather dissapointed. There's no significant difference to phone's market. And paid apps are still blocked - at least for some non-US countries. Like the rest of the world doesn't use credit cards or paypal?

Any chance of fixing the two obvious bug introduced recently?

1) Why does `my orders` on the Android website only show me 9 random apps from the many I have installed? Wouldn't showing all of them make more sense?

2) On my phone I can only see apps I've not installed to SD card on the `my apps` section, unless I uninstall updates to the marketplace

I tried to access android market using firefox and was told it was not trusted because the certificate belongs to google.

How can I trust a product that uses someone elses certificate?

Reads as shoddy practice to me.

In this article, we are going to discuss the top 30 countries using iPhones. You can skip our detailed analysis of the global smartphone market and the recent updates of the market giants, and go directly to the iOS vs Android Market Share by Country: Top 5 Countries Using iPhones.

According to StatCounter, the Android mobile operating system holds the largest market share of 70.77% globally, as of August 2023. iOS, on the other hand, holds a global market share of 28.52%, as of August 2023. The iOS mobile operating system is highly popular in the Oceania region, with a 55.66% market share. This is followed by the North America with a market share of 54.32%. These regions are major markets for the selling and distribution of iPhones.

Regardless of the brand and mobile operating system, smartphones are an essential commodity. However, some brands stand out as market leaders. These include Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (OTC:SSNLF), and Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG). Check out some of the biggest smartphone companies in the world.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (OTC:SSNLF) is known to be the first to launch innovative and unique products to the market. On August 12, Forbes reported interesting news about the Samsung Galaxy S24 design leak. The launch of the Galaxy S24 series is still far ahead. However, users are expecting some interesting updates to the phone. As per the report, the new series is expected to receive a new sensor for its 200 megapixel camera, with a telephoto camera paired with a 3x optical zoom lens. This will enable users to capture quality pictures with zoom. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra may offer users with almost 2 terabytes of storage, a titanium frame, and a 5000 mAh battery.

People in Sweden enjoy a high standard of living. The country is making huge leaps in technology, and therefore, its residents are among the greatest smartphone users while also holding a large market for the iPhone.

The Bahamas is a country in the Caribbean. The country holds a 56% market share for the iPhone. The popularity of the phone can be attributed to the growing smartphone usage and investment in technology.

Canada is not only ahead of the world for its high smartphone usage, but it is also a large market for the iPhone. With a market share of 58.64%, the country is popular for owning the latest technology.

The android debug bridge (adb) is used to connect the developers system to an Android phone or the emulator. On the device itself the adbd daemon is started as soon as the phone is connected to the computer when USB debugging is enabled. On the computer adb can now be used to spawn a shell, forward ports and do other debugging related tasks. Adb is also used by the development environment to get a list of all running debuggable applications and to connect to one of these applications for debugging.

That's a reversal from the worldwide situation. A quick glance at recent smartphone market share numbers (such as the data from Kantar Worldpanel) shows Android leading iOS in every territory, with Android taking a 76.4 percent share in Europe compared to iOS's 22.2 percent.

It is in Apple's best interest to ensure that it serves the teen market. Ensuring that there are affordable devices for their parents or guardians to buy is one key step, and it should be obvious that the marketing around the iPhone SE is going to focus on it carrying the latest specifications of hardware alongside the fact that it is the lowest priced 'new' iPhone currently on the market.

When it comes to mobile operating systems, Android and iOS are the two key players that cover almost all of the market. While Android has a far wider reach, iOS is the one that garners the reputation of the most popular one.

However, iOS eats up quite a big share of the industry in more niche markets and first-world countries due to its esoteric appeal. It remains within the reach & feasibility of fewer people due to fewer and more expensive options in terms of devices, apps, etc.

Therefore, when we look at the global stats, we find that Android alone covers almost three-fourths of the market, whereas iOS covers almost the rest of it. The two operating systems together rule the market with more than 6 billion users worldwide.

Operating systems ultimately run upon different kinds of devices like desktops, tablets, mobile phones, etc. Therefore, understanding the popularity of different operating systems across different devices can tell a lot about their hold in the market.

Android emerges as the unassailable leader when we compare the mobile operating systems in terms of global usage strength. As per the latest reports from Statcounter, Android has a worldwide hold of 69.74 percent whereas iOS holds 29.58 percent share of the global mobile operating system market. Their combined share stands at more than 99 percent of the total market.

The rest of the mobile operating systems like Samsung & KaiOS make up less than 1% of the market share together. This just goes to show that Android and iOS are the two unbeatable mobile operating systems that cannot be competed with.

However, Android manages to give a close contest to iOS here as well. It covers a market share of 44.91 percent for tablet operating systems. Windows, Linux, BlackBerry OS, and others together constitute the rest of the tablet OS market share.

If we consider the market share of all operating systems across all devices, Android & iOS hold high ranks in the competition here as well. As per May 2022 statistics, Android accounts for 37.66 percent of the overall market share. Second in the list is Windows with 30.76 percent of the market share, whereas iOS covers 16.63 percent, OS X (macOS) covers 9.06 percent and Chrome OS covers around 1.75 percent of the market.

Evidently, Android & iOS rule the market here as well with a combined share of more than 50 percent. This further underlines the importance of mobile devices and apps and also goes on to show that Android covers a dominant share of the market across all devices.

This implies that with the growing sale of mobile devices and smartphones, the count of Android and iOS users is also perpetually growing across the world. In fact, these two have almost eliminated every other mobile OS out of the picture and have covered almost 100 percent of the market. ff782bc1db
