Why me?

I am a Mounds View resident, a proud dad, and a dedicated volunteer - over the years, I've been found at PTA meetings, operating games at the Sunnyside Carnival, marking laps on the backs of students' t-shirts during the Apex Fun Run, and even participating in the design committee for Sunnyside Elementary School's remodel and expansion.

My focus is on equity and unity across all of our schools. My goal is simple: let's top the list of best elementary, middle and high schools in the state. In order to do that, let's ensure equal outcomes and access to educational and enrichment opportunities across our diverse communities and areas of the district.

Our school board members should remain reflective of the diverse communities comprising the district. I hope you will elect me to be your voice.

Biggest issue and how to solve it?

The biggest issue faced by Mounds View Public Schools is ensuring equity and equal access to educational and enrichment opportunities across our diverse communities and areas of the district, particularly while faced with an expanding student population that is projected to grow through 2023.

About my family

I live in Mounds View with my wife Dawn and our children, Alice (grade 4, St. Odilia School), Willow (grade 3, Sunnyside) and Crosby (13 months, future Sunnysider). Our family is made complete with two dogs (Eddie and Tinkerbell) and one rabbit (Jim). My wife is an alum of Mounds View High, Chippewa Middle and Turtle Lake Elementary, and I now see why she was so passionate about raising our family here.

Sunnyside Elementary School Design Team

In 2017, the school district received overwhelming support from voters by approving a referendum to finance district-wide expansion of facilities. I was fortunate enough to participate in the Sunnyside Elementary School Design Team during the 2018-2019 academic year. As a committee, we sought feedback from the community and collaborated with architects to develop the best and most efficient design for our school. I was able to apply my professional background in construction to help ensure our facilities remain modern and state of the art. As a school board member, I will continue to recount on my experience to ensure construction timelines and budgets are adhered to.
