Urban Oasis
Creating Urban Follies for the Ambiguity:
Navigate Fragmentation of Perceived Reality Within Johor Bahru Downtown
Urban Oasis explores an innovative approach to address these urban challenges through the integration of urban follies as therapeutic elements within the urban fabric. The project navigates the potential of urban follies as architectural interventions aimed at creating cohesive and interactive social spaces within urban contexts. Follies, historically known for their whimsical, non-functional nature, are reimagined as purposeful elements designed to serve as therapy spaces, fostering social interaction, mental well-being, and community engagement.
It also emphasizes nature integration, multi-sensory experiences, community involvement, and adaptable spaces, aiming to create vibrant social hubs that transcend conventional urban design paradigms. Ultimately, contribute to the discourse on urban design and therapy elements by proposing design interventions that address the ambiguity and enhance the well-being of urban inhabitants within the dynamic context of contemporary cities.
