Denise began dancing at the age of two, with early training in ballet & pointe alongside flamenco, tap & jazz. Though a performer all her life, her path later led her into ongoing study in Cuban & Afro-Brasilian traditions, including Cuban social & folkloric forms, Técnica Silvestre, Orixá-based movement & contemporary dance. She has trained repeatedly in Havana, Cuba & Brazil, and continues to study with her masters to this day.
Since 2019, Denise has been cultivating a movement practice & teaching style rooted in rhythm, ancestry & embodied presence. She is also a speech-language pathologist, which informs her inclusive, attuned approach to teaching. Her classes are designed for adults & children of all abilities & differences, welcoming both seasoned dancers & those new to movement into spaces that support connection, confidence, and embodied expression.
