Privacy Policy

scenely is an app for discovering and sharing photos of beautiful places. You can post photos of spots worth visiting, rate places shared by other users, and save your favorites — all photos are checked on-device to make sure no people appear in them, keeping the focus on places, not people.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

When you sign in with Google, we collect your email address, display name, and profile photo, which are used to create and identify your account.

When you create a post, we collect and store the photos you upload, the city name and (optional) location you attach to it, any tags you add, and your ratings of other users' posts. This content is stored using our backend provider, Supabase, and is visible to other users of the app as part of normal app functionality.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with any third parties beyond the service providers (Google Sign-In and Supabase) that we use to operate the app.

Permissions:

Scenely requests photo/media access so you can select photos from your device to post. It requests location access only if you choose to use the map location picker to pin a place using your current location — this is entirely optional, and you can create a post with just a city name.

Before a photo can be uploaded, Scenely checks it on your device for faces and human bodies using on-device image recognition. This check happens entirely on your device — no image data or detection results are ever sent to us or any third party. If a person is detected, the upload is simply blocked on your device.

You can permanently delete your account and all associated content at any time from Settings → Delete account.

Children's Privacy

scenely does not collect any information from children under 13.

We may update our Privacy Policy in the future. We will notify you of any changes by having the new Privacy Policy here.
