Bobby Jasoos: A Movie Review
Bobby Jasoos is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language comedy drama film directed by Samar Shaikh and produced by Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha. The film stars Vidya Balan and features Ali Fazal, Arjan Bajwa, Supriya Pathak, Rajendra Gupta and Tanvi Azmi in supporting roles. It tells the story of Bilqees "Bobby" Ahmed, a Hyderabadi woman who aspires to be a detective despite facing a series of obstacles.
The film is set in the old city area of Hyderabad, where Bobby lives with her conservative family and dreams of becoming the number one detective in the town. She solves petty cases for her neighbours and friends, such as helping Tasawwur, a TV show host, to avoid unwanted marriage proposals. Her life changes when she gets hired by a mysterious NRI named Anees Khan, who gives her three cases of finding missing people with specific physical features. Bobby takes up the challenge and disguises herself in various roles to track down the targets. However, she soon realizes that Khan has a sinister motive behind his assignments and that she has unknowingly become a part of his dangerous plan.
