The Cement Price Trend in Q2 2026 showed a mixed but generally firm movement across major global markets. Cement remained closely connected to construction activity, seasonal demand, fuel costs, transportation expenses, freight availability, and local supply conditions. In some markets, Cement Prices moved clearly higher because buyers were preparing for the peak construction season, while other markets remained almost stable or saw a correction toward the end of the quarter. Looking at the quarter as a whole, the global cement market showed how strongly seasonal construction demand and logistics costs can influence prices.
Cement is one of those materials where even a small change in transportation, fuel, or construction activity can affect the final market price. During Q2 2026, this was particularly visible in markets such as Turkey, the USA, Brazil, Italy, China, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
The Cement Price Index during the quarter reflected these different market conditions. Some regions experienced noticeable increases, while others remained relatively stable because supply was sufficient to meet demand. This made Q2 2026 an interesting period for understanding how regional factors can create very different cement price movements at the same time.

The overall Cement Price Trend during Q2 2026 can be described as firm to mixed.
The main reason behind stronger prices in several markets was the arrival of the peak construction season. As construction projects became more active, demand for cement increased. At the same time, higher energy costs, transportation expenses, freight rates, and limited vessel availability added pressure to delivered prices.
Turkey recorded one of the strongest increases during the quarter, with cement prices rising by approximately 8.34% QoQ. The increase was linked to stronger export demand, higher energy and gypsum costs, and vessel shortages.
The USA also experienced a significant increase of around 5.95% QoQ, partly because imported cement became more expensive due to freight costs and higher costs at the origin.
Brazil recorded an increase of approximately 5.38% QoQ, while Italy saw cement prices rise by around 5.53% QoQ.
China followed with an increase of about 5.13% QoQ, supported by construction activity, infrastructure demand, lower clinker inventories, and higher raw-material and fuel costs.
Vietnam recorded a more moderate increase of around 2.39% QoQ.
Meanwhile, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and the Philippines showed much more limited movement during the quarter.
This difference between countries is important. It shows that there is no single global cement price. Instead, the market is influenced by local construction demand, supply availability, imports, freight, currency movements, and weather conditions.
India experienced a relatively stable quarter overall.
In North India, cement prices recorded approximately 0.00% QoQ movement during Q2 2026. Early in the quarter, construction demand was relatively strong, while cost pressures provided some support to prices.
However, the situation changed as the quarter moved toward June.
The arrival of monsoon conditions reduced construction activity in many areas. At the same time, inventory competition increased as producers and sellers looked for sufficient demand before the seasonal slowdown became stronger.
As a result, cement prices in North India declined by around 3.03% MoM in June 2026.
The Indian market therefore provides a good example of how seasonal conditions can change the direction of the market within a single quarter. Prices may remain supported during the early construction season and then face pressure when project activity slows.
For buyers, this means that monitoring monthly movements can sometimes be just as important as looking at quarterly changes.
China recorded a stronger upward movement during Q2 2026, with Cement Prices increasing by approximately 5.13% QoQ.
The main support came from the return of peak-season construction activity and infrastructure-related demand. Infrastructure fund releases also helped support project execution.
Another factor was relatively low clinker inventory. When available inventories are limited while demand is active, producers have more room to maintain firm offers.
Higher raw-fuel costs also contributed to the increase.
However, the market appeared to stabilize in June. Cement prices showed approximately 0.00% MoM movement during the month.
This suggests that after moving higher earlier in the quarter, the Chinese market entered a period of consolidation rather than continuing to rise at the same pace.
Turkey was one of the strongest-performing markets in terms of price movement during Q2 2026.
Cement prices increased by approximately 8.34% QoQ.
Several factors worked together. Export demand became stronger, energy and gypsum costs increased, and vessel shortages created additional logistical pressure.
Demand from overseas markets helped absorb available cement supply. This gave producers greater support for maintaining firm offers.
In June, the upward movement continued, with cement prices increasing by approximately 5.65% MoM.
The Turkish market demonstrates how export demand and logistics can have a major effect on cement prices. Even when domestic conditions are not the only factor, international buyers can influence available supply and delivered prices.
The USA recorded a cement price increase of approximately 5.95% QoQ during Q2 2026.
The market was influenced by higher import costs, freight-rate restoration, pre-summer buying, and increased costs for Turkish-origin material.
Buyers were also securing cargoes ahead of the peak construction season. This type of early purchasing can increase demand for imported material and place additional pressure on delivered prices.
In June, prices increased by approximately 4.21% MoM.
The movement shows the importance of freight in the US cement market. Cement is a heavy product, so transportation represents an important part of its delivered cost. When shipping becomes more expensive, the impact can quickly reach buyers.
Brazil recorded approximately 5.38% QoQ growth in cement prices during Q2 2026.
Construction activity recovered after the Carnival period, while the approach of the peak construction season supported demand.
Freight and insurance costs also increased delivered prices.
Infrastructure projects played another important role. As large projects moved forward and budgets were executed more actively, cement demand received additional support.
In June, Brazil's cement prices increased by around 3.67% MoM.
Importers were also building positions because of expectations around possible trade barriers. This contributed to firm buying activity and helped sellers maintain stronger offers.
Italy recorded approximately 5.53% QoQ growth during Q2 2026.
The increase was supported by strong construction activity, general rate increases, higher costs for imported cement, and logistics pressure.
Mediterranean vessel shortages were another important factor. When shipping availability becomes tighter, delivered cement costs can increase even if the underlying product price does not change significantly.
In June, prices increased by approximately 3.77% MoM.
Both residential and infrastructure construction continued to provide support to the market, helping maintain firm pricing during the quarter.
Vietnam experienced a more moderate increase of approximately 2.39% QoQ.
The market was supported by peak domestic construction activity, export demand, and higher fuel and transportation costs.
Northern supply conditions also contributed to firmer offers.
Unlike some of the stronger-moving markets, Vietnam's prices were relatively stable in June, showing approximately 0.00% MoM movement.
This suggests that the market reached a more balanced position after the earlier increase.
Bangladesh remained relatively stable during Q2 2026.
Cement prices increased by approximately 0.91% QoQ.
The market received some support from pre-monsoon import demand, higher input costs, and currency depreciation. However, adequate supply after the initial adjustment prevented a larger price increase.
In June, cement prices showed approximately 0.00% MoM movement.
The market therefore remained balanced, with buyers able to secure sufficient imported material despite seasonal considerations.
Malaysia also experienced a relatively limited movement during the quarter.
Cement prices increased by approximately 1.00% QoQ.
Importers were building inventory ahead of the rainy season, while currency weakness and higher freight costs added some upward pressure.
However, sufficient contracted supply prevented these factors from creating a sustained shortage.
By June, prices remained unchanged at approximately 0.00% MoM.
This indicates that the market had largely completed its restocking phase and entered a more stable trading environment.
The Philippines recorded approximately 0.98% QoQ growth in cement prices during Q2 2026.
Dry-season construction demand provided support, while currency depreciation and shipping disruptions created additional cost pressure.
However, sufficient import availability prevented a major increase.
As buyers secured shipments before the rainy season, the market remained relatively balanced.
June cement prices showed approximately 0.00% MoM movement, indicating that prices had stabilized after earlier adjustments.
The Cement Price Chart for Q2 2026 would show a clear difference between markets.
Turkey would stand out with the largest quarterly increase of approximately 8.34%. The USA, Italy, Brazil, and China would also show noticeable upward movement.
Vietnam would show a smaller increase, while Bangladesh, Malaysia, and the Philippines would remain close to stable levels.
India would be particularly interesting because its quarterly movement was almost flat, even though June showed a decline of around 3.03% MoM.
This demonstrates why a price chart should be viewed together with the time period. A quarterly number can sometimes hide a significant change that occurred during the final month.
The Cement Price Index provides a useful way to understand the broader direction of the market rather than focusing on only one country.
Q2 2026 showed that the global cement market was influenced by several common factors, but their impact differed from region to region.
Construction demand was one of the biggest drivers. Where project activity was strong, buyers were more willing to accept higher prices.
Energy and fuel costs were another major influence. Cement production requires significant energy, so changes in fuel-related expenses can affect producer pricing.
Freight was also important, particularly in import-dependent markets. Vessel shortages and higher shipping costs increased delivered prices in several regions.
Weather created another major difference. In India, the beginning of monsoon conditions weakened construction demand and contributed to the June correction. In other Asian markets, buyers prepared inventory before seasonal weather disruptions.
Looking beyond Q2 2026, the Cement Price Forecast depends on several factors rather than one single market signal.
Construction activity will remain one of the most important factors. If infrastructure and residential projects continue at a healthy pace, cement demand can remain supportive.
Energy costs will also need to be watched closely. Higher fuel costs can increase production expenses and eventually place pressure on selling prices.
Freight is another key factor, especially for imported cement. If vessel availability remains tight or shipping costs increase, delivered Cement Prices could remain firm.
Weather will also continue to influence regional markets. Seasonal slowdowns can reduce cement consumption, while the return of construction activity can quickly improve demand.
Currency movements are important for countries that rely heavily on imports. A weaker local currency can make imported cement more expensive even when the international product price remains relatively stable.
Based on the Q2 2026 market conditions provided, the direction of cement prices is likely to remain highly regional. Some markets may continue to experience cost-driven firmness, while others may see stable or softer prices when seasonal demand weakens.
For construction companies, contractors, distributors, and other cement buyers, watching only the headline price may not be enough.
It is useful to monitor:
Construction activity in the local market
Fuel and energy costs
Freight and vessel availability
Import supply
Currency movements
Producer inventories
Infrastructure project activity
Weather and seasonal construction patterns
Monthly as well as quarterly price changes
These factors can provide a better understanding of why Cement Prices are moving and whether a change is likely to be temporary or more persistent.
