If you want a dedicated, high-load solution for your Toyota Tacoma with a rigid 265-pound capacity and anti-theft security built in, choose Deepace Lockable Roof Rack; if you need a flexible, sliding-position carrier for your Honda CR-V that adapts to various cargo sizes without permanent positioning, choose VULIXYUAN Roof Rack Cross.
• Best for the Tacoma owner who needs maximum stability for heavy gear like kayaks or large cargo boxes.
• VULIXYUAN Roof Rack Cross: Strength is its unique adjustable sliding design that lets you move the crossbars to accommodate different loads; trade-off is the lack of a specific mention of an anti-theft lock system and a more general cargo focus compared to the specialized weight rating of the competitor. Best for the CR-V owner who values flexibility in cargo placement over raw maximum weight limits.
The Deepace Lockable Roof Rack is engineered as a precision tool specifically for the fourth-generation Toyota Tacoma Double Cab models from 2024 through 2027. This is not a universal bolt-on bar; it is a custom-fit component designed to integrate directly with the factory mounting points on vehicles with a bare roof. If you own this specific truck, the fitment is engineered to eliminate wobble and ensure stability even when driving at highway speeds. The mounting system does not require any cutting or drilling, which preserves the structural integrity of your vehicle while providing a rock-solid foundation for whatever you decide to strap to the roof.
What sets this rack apart in the daily driver scenario is the combination of durability and security. Whether you are transporting a pair of large bikes, multiple surfboards, a substantial cargo box, or heavy camping equipment, the full aluminum alloy construction provides the necessary strength to support these loads without flexing or failing. For those of us who use our trucks for tailgating, this means you can haul a massive amount of coolers, chairs, grills, and other party supplies without worrying about the rack sagging under the pressure.
Security is another critical pillar for this product. The inclusion of an upgraded metal anti-theft lock system addresses a common concern for anyone leaving gear unattended at a campsite, beach, or event. Unlike generic bars that rely solely on friction or basic clips, this system offers a tangible layer of protection against theft during road trips or overnight stops. Additionally, the aerodynamic profile helps reduce wind noise and vibration, making the driving experience quieter and more comfortable whether you are commuting to work or heading out on a long-distance trip. The design also accommodates sunroofs, ensuring that your vehicle's features remain functional without interference from the bars.
However, this level of specialization comes with strict boundaries. You cannot install this on a Tacoma XtraCab model, nor will it fit any vehicle outside the specified 2024-2027 Double Cab range with a bare roof. If you have side rails or a different cab configuration, this product is incompatible. Furthermore, because the design is optimized for a specific vehicle and a high static load, it lacks the sliding mechanism found in some competitors. Once installed, the position is fixed. This is a non-issue for most users who know exactly where they want their gear centered, but it means you lose the ability to shift the bars to create more space between them later.

The VULIXYUAN Roof Rack Cross serves a slightly different demographic, targeting owners of the Honda CR-V from 2023 to 2027, specifically the LX, EX, and EX-L trims with bare roofs. Like its counterpart, this system relies on a no-drill installation process, utilizing multiple mounting hooks and protective pads to secure itself to the factory points. The primary selling point here is adaptability. Instead of being locked into a single position, the VULIXYUAN bars feature a sliding adjustment design. This allows you to move the crossbars along the length of the roof to better align with your specific cargo needs.
This flexibility is ideal for users who do not carry the same load every day. One week you might be hauling a wide cargo bag, requiring the bars to be spread further apart for stability. The next week, you might be carrying a long, narrow item like a ladder or a set of skis, where moving the bars closer together provides better leverage and prevents the load from overhanging too much. The aluminum alloy construction ensures the bars are lightweight yet sturdy enough to resist rust and corrosion, making them suitable for year-round use in various weather conditions. The design focuses on versatility, offering a convenient rooftop storage solution that grows with your changing travel requirements.
For the Honda CR-V owner, this rack acts as a versatile utility platform. It supports compatible luggage carriers, cargo bags, and other travel gear, providing a clean way to keep your interior cabin free of clutter. The inclusion of protective pads is crucial, as it prevents scratches on the vehicle's paint during both installation and removal. The system is straightforward to install, guided by included instructions, and requires no special tools or modifications to the vehicle body. It is a practical solution for families who need extra storage space but do not necessarily require the extreme weight ratings or specialized locking mechanisms of a truck-specific rack.
That said, the VULIXYUAN system trades some of the specialized features found in the Deepace option for this flexibility. There is no explicit mention of an anti-theft lock system in the provided specifications, which might be a consideration for those planning to leave expensive gear on the roof for extended periods. Additionally, while the load capacity is not explicitly quantified in the same "pounds" format as the Deepace data, the design prioritizes the sliding mechanism over a rigid, high-weight structural frame. This makes it excellent for general travel and light-to-moderate hauling, but perhaps less suited for the heaviest possible loads compared to a dedicated 265-lb rated truck bar.
• Best for Cargo Flexibility → VULIXYUAN Roof Rack Cross, featuring a sliding design that allows you to adjust bar spacing for different load shapes.
• Best for Security → Deepace Lockable Roof Rack, equipped with an upgraded metal anti-theft lock system to protect gear during camping or road trips.
• Best for Specific Vehicle Fit → Deepace (for 2024-2027 Tacoma Double Cab) vs. VULIXYUAN (for 2023-2027 Honda CR-V); neither fits outside their specific model years and trim configurations.
• Best for Quiet Driving → Deepace Lockable Roof Rack, specifically highlighted for its aerodynamic shape designed to reduce wind noise and vibration.
• Best for Sunroof Users → Deepace Lockable Roof Rack, explicitly designed to allow normal sunroof opening and closing without interference.
• Best for Versatile Storage → VULIXYUAN Roof Rack Cross, offering a sliding position design to better fit a variety of cargo needs without permanent positioning.
• Best for Durability Against Elements → Both utilize aluminum alloy and rust-resistant components, though Deepace emphasizes long-term support for heavy loads while VULIXYUAN highlights rust-resistant hooks for lasting durability.
In my opinion, if you are looking for a robust, secure setup for your Toyota Tacoma to tackle serious tailgating or heavy outdoor gear, the Deepace Lockable Roof Rack is the clear winner. Its 265-pound capacity and integrated anti-theft locks provide a peace of mind and structural confidence that the sliding design of the VULIXYUAN simply cannot match for heavy loads. However, if you drive a Honda CR-V and prioritize the ability to shift your bars around to fit odd-shaped items, the VULIXYUAN Roof Rack Cross offers the perfect balance of utility and adaptability for your daily life. I would buy the Deepace for the sheer capability it brings to the Tacoma, knowing it is built to handle the weight and security demands of a true adventure rig.
Yes, both systems are designed for beginner-friendly, no-drill installation. The Deepace kit includes hardware and video support, while the VULIXYUAN package comes with mounting hooks and instructions to complete the setup using only the included tools.
The Deepace Lockable Roof Rack is explicitly designed to be sunroof friendly, allowing the sunroof to open and close normally. Both products are intended for bare roofs without factory side rails, so they replace the need for existing rails rather than clamping onto them.
The Deepace Lockable Roof Rack includes an upgraded metal anti-theft lock system, providing a specific security advantage for securing valuable gear like bikes or cargo boxes compared to the standard hook-and-pad design of the VULIXYUAN.
The VULIXYUAN is designed for versatile cargo carrying including luggage carriers and bags, focusing more on flexibility than maximum weight capacity.
