# Privacy Policy for Deenio

## 1. Introduction
Deenio ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. Deenio is an offline-first Islamic companion app providing the Quran, prayer times, Qibla compass, duas, hadith, the 99 Names of Allah (Asmaul Husna), tasbih, and worship guides.
**Deenio does not operate any servers, does not require an account, does not show ads, and does not use any tracking or analytics SDKs.** All your personal data stays on your device.
This policy describes what information the app accesses, how it is used, and your choices. It applies to Deenio for iOS on the Apple App Store.

## 2. Data We Do NOT Collect
We do **not** collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers or to third parties, because we operate no servers. We do not sell, share, or rent your data. We do not track you across apps or websites.
## 3. Data Processed On-Device Only
The following data is processed and stored **only locally on your device** (using `UserDefaults` and the local SQLite database inside the app container) and is never sent to us:
### a) Precise Location (Optional, Only With Your Permission)
- **When used:** Only if you grant "Allow While Using the App" and keep Automatic Location enabled. It is used to calculate prayer times for your current position and to determine the Qibla direction. If you choose **Manual City** instead, your location is not accessed at all.
- **How it is used:** Latitude and longitude are used on-device to compute prayer times and the Qibla angle. The city name is resolved through the operating system's reverse-geocoding service (Apple `CLGeocoder`) so the app can display your city. The last known position (coordinates, city, country) is cached locally so the app keeps working offline.
- **Not shared with the developer:** We never receive your location.
### b) App Preferences
Display name, selected language (English, Turkish, Arabic, Indonesian, Urdu, French, Russian), theme, Arabic text and font-size settings, prayer calculation method, Asr (Ikindi) madhhab setting, high-latitude rule, and imsak adjustment. Changing a setting overwrites it. Deleting the app removes it permanently.
### c) Favorites and Progress (Local Database)
Favorite verses, favorite Names of Allah, favorite duas, Quran reading history and recents, Khatam (hatim) progress, pinned reading position, and tasbih counts and targets. All stored locally in the on-device database.
### d) Sensors and Other Data
- The compass heading (magnetometer) is read only while the Qibla page is open, kept in memory, and never stored.
- The app does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health data.
## 4. Third Parties and System Services
We share no data with third parties. The only processing outside the app is at operating-system level:
- **Apple CoreLocation / CLGeocoder:** if you use automatic location, iOS may process coordinates to return a city name, subject to Apple's privacy policy. This is handled by the operating system, not by us.
- The app contains no Firebase, no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and makes no network requests for its core features.
## 5. Data Retention and Deletion
All data is kept on your device until you delete it. You can delete it at any time by changing or clearing the relevant setting (**Profile > Settings**, **Prayer & Location Settings**) or by deleting the app, which permanently removes all locally stored data. Because we operate no servers, there is no server-side data for us to delete.
## 6. Children's Privacy
Deenio does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because all data stays on-device and is never transmitted to us, the app is safe for family use. If you have questions, contact us at the address above.
## 7. Your Rights (GDPR, KVKK, CCPA and Others)
Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because everything is stored on your device, you can exercise these rights directly: review or change settings in the app, or delete the app to erase everything. ## 8. Security
Your data is protected by iOS sandboxing and device security (passcode, encryption). Core features work without a network connection, so there is no transmission that could be intercepted.
## 9. International Use
Deenio works fully offline. We do not transfer your data across borders. If iOS reverse-geocoding is used, Apple processes it under Apple's own regional policies.
## 10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the app changes (for example, when adding features). The Effective Date at the top will be updated, and significant changes will be noted in the App Store update notes. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
