I am thrilled to write this message for the 6th Educational Research Day 2024, organised by the Department for Educational Development, Faculty of Health Sciences, Aga Khan University. This year’s theme is Exploring New Frontiers in Education: Evidence from Research.
The Education Research Day aims to provide a platform for disseminating cutting-edge research spanning all aspects of education, with a particular focus on Health Professions Education (HPE). This unique event serves as a collaborative forum where members of the academic community, including the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS), Institute of Educational Development (IED) and Examination Board (EB), can share their research and exchange fruitful discussions.
The role of education research in evaluating, enhancing and innovating curriculum design, pedagogical practices, assessment methods and learning outcomes cannot be overstated. By identifying knowledge gaps and addressing them, education research informs policy decisions related to education and ensures that educational systems are effective, relevant, and equitable. Ultimately, education research is crucial in preparing students for personal and professional success in a rapidly changing world.
I am happy to report that we received a large number of high-quality abstracts. I want to extend my gratitude to the Department Research Committee, Abstract Review Committee, and the Reviewers for their diligent work reviewing over 100 abstracts and creating the abstract book.
My sincerest congratulations to the faculty members whose abstracts have been accepted for oral and poster presentations.
