Membership consists of all leaders enrolled in the Boulder County 4-H program. Our next meeting will be held on Monday, December 2, at 6:30 pm

WINTER SOCIAL
What is the Winter Social, and who should attend?
The Winter Social, hosted by the 4-H Youth Council, is a fun and festive event for the Boulder County 4-H community. It’s a chance to celebrate the season, connect with others, and enjoy activities planned by our amazing youth leaders.
Everyone is welcome—4-H members, families, volunteers, and leaders!

ADULT COLLABORATIVE MEETING
You’re Invited to the Adult Collaborative Meeting!
What is the Adult Collaborative? It’s a space for 4-H adults—leaders, volunteers, parents, and members of our staff—to come together, share ideas, and collaborate on ways to enhance our 4-H program. Whether you’re a seasoned 4-H pro or brand new, your voice and creativity are welcome!
Join us for an informal, welcoming evening filled with snacks, fun, and fresh ideas. Let’s work together to make Boulder County 4-H even better. We can’t wait to see you there!
4-H PARADE OF LIGHTS: YOUTH COUNCIL FLOAT PARTICIPATION
Youth Council Float Participation for Longmont's Parade of Lights
Float Theme: Snow Globe Wishes from 4-H (inspired by the book by Erin Dealey).
Parade Theme: Timeless Holiday Stories
Float Decorating: Saturday, Dec. 14, 10 AM at the Extension Office (may change).
Parade Lineup: 3:30 PM at Roosevelt Park, Longmont. The parade starts at 5 PM.
Attire: Dress as woodland or barnyard creatures, snowmen, or wear 4-H gear. Walkers (ages 14+) should bring battery-operated lights. Riders (13 and under) can also wear lights and will sit on hay bales—donations of hay or straw are appreciated!
After the Parade: Meet at Roosevelt Park (7:00–7:30 PM) to help dismantle the float.
Youth and adults are welcome! Sign up to join the fun and celebrate the season with 4-H!

CLOVERBUDS
Get ready for a day of festive fun! Your Cloverbud-age kids and their same-age friends are invited to our Gingerbread House-Making Day this December.
What to Expect:
🎄 Gingerbread house crafting
🎄 Learn about Cloverbuds and meet new friends
🎄 Open to everyone—no need to be a 4-H member yet!

IMPORTANT RE-ENROLLMENT DEADLINES
Please remember to re-enroll your 4-H member on time!
Complete your enrollment and payment by the last Thursday in January to avoid a $20 late fee.
The final deadline for all enrollments to participate in the Boulder County Fair is the last Thursday in April.

E-RECORDS ON GOOGLE DRIVE
The 4-H project e-Records have been updated for the 2024-2025 4-H year in Word/Excel and fillable PDF format on the state project information website. We have also prepared a file with links to all the e-Records in Google Docs/Sheets, so families who prefer to use Google Docs/Sheets can do so.
Here is the document with the links. Users will be prompted to make a copy of the e-Record file into their own Google Drive before they can edit it.
DISCOVER THE FUN OF HORSE BOWL & HIPPOLOGY
Are you a horse enthusiast or just curious about learning more about these amazing animals? Horse Bowl and Hippology are fantastic opportunities for 4-H members to dive into the world of equine science while making new friends and having fun!
What’s Horse Bowl?
Think of it as a team quiz game where you and your teammates buzz in to answer horse-related questions! It's a friendly competition that challenges your equine knowledge and teamwork skills.
What’s Hippology?
Hippology means “the study of the horse,” and it's a mix of challenges designed to test your horse knowledge. You'll solve problems, identify horse-related items, judge horses, and more—all in a hands-on, fun setting!
Practice Details:
📅 When: Starting Thursday, January 9, 4:45 PM – 6:15 PM
📍 Where: Clover Building, Upstairs Fairgrounds Meeting Room
📆 Practices are held weekly through mid-May for juniors (ages 8-13) and through the state conference in mid-June for seniors (ages 14-18).

FAMILY FORUM-SAVE THE DATE
What is the 4-H Family Forum, and who should attend?
The 4-H Family Forum is a fun and informative event for all 4-H families to learn about the five key project completion requirements: Record Book, Demonstration, Community Service, Judging Activity, and Project Exhibition.
Join us on January 22, 2025, at 6:00 PM in Barn A at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. Dinner will be provided, so come enjoy a meal while connecting with other families and gaining the tools to support your 4-H member's success.
We encourage all 4-H families—especially new members—to attend!
COLORADO 4-H SCHOLARSHIPS
Colorado 4-H awards scholarships annually to outstanding youth who have actively engaged in Colorado 4-H clubs for at least three years. The scholarship process is open from November 1, 2024, through March 1, 2025. Scholarship recipients will be announced in May 2025. There are opportunities available for all kinds of students, including those attending CSU or other universities, trade schools or junior colleges, transfer students, and continuing students. We encourage our 4-H participants to apply.

SEWING PROJECT
CAKE DECORATING
Do you love cakes or want to try your hand at decorating them? Our monthly Cake Decorating Workshops are the perfect opportunity to learn, practice, and have fun! Whether you’re already enrolled in Cake Decorating or just thinking about it, everyone is welcome.

Please bring all the items needed for your cake decorating unit, such as:
Cake and cake board
Toppings for decoration
Cake knife, piping bags (if applicable), scissors, wax paper
Washcloth and paper towels
Homemade frosting
These workshops are a great way to sharpen your skills, get inspired by others, and create something beautiful and delicious. Don’t miss out—we can’t wait to see your cake creations!
LEADER TRAININGS
Calling all new and re-certifying Colorado 4-H Shooting Sports Leaders! Get ready to enhance your skills and gain certification in various disciplines. Training will be held across four counties in March 2025:
March 7-9: Morgan County – Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, and Archery
March 14-16: Weld County – Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, and Archery
March 21-23: Pueblo County – Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, Muzzleloading, Western Heritage, Hunting and Outdoor Skills
March 28-30: Garfield County – Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, Muzzleloading, Western Heritage, Hunting and Outdoor Skills
Please note: You must be an approved Boulder County 4-H Leader before registering for the Shooting Sports Leader Training. This is a great opportunity to connect, learn, and lead—don’t miss out!

Suffolk Sheep Association – Ewe Grant Program
Hey 4-H youth with an interest in Sheep. Unites Suffolk Sheep Association Ewe Grant Program is designed to provide financial assistance for a young person in purchasing a registered Suffolk ewe, for youth starting a Suffolk flock. Applications are due March 1, 2025. For more information visit the grant application.
