DebtZero is a local-first debt payoff planning application for Android. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.
Information you enter
DebtZero lets you manually enter debt names, balances, annual percentage rates, payment amounts, payment history, balance history, planning preferences, and reminder settings. This planner information is stored locally on your device. DebtZero does not require an account and does not connect to your bank, lender, or credit provider.
The app can create a JSON backup only when you choose to export one. You control where that file is stored or shared. Restoring a backup reads the file you select back into the app.
Advertising and diagnostic technology
The Android app package includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform. Although advertising is disabled in the current release configuration, Google components included with the app may process technical information according to their configuration and platform behavior. This information may include:
• approximate location derived from an IP address;
• app interactions;
• diagnostic information; and
• device or other identifiers, including the Android advertising identifier where available.
Google may use this information for analytics, advertising or marketing, and fraud prevention, security, and compliance. Data sent to Google is transmitted using encrypted connections. Google's handling of this information is governed by Google's own privacy terms and advertising technology policies.

Permissions
DebtZero may request notification permission so that it can show reminders you create. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. You can deny or revoke notification permission in Android settings.
Data sharing
DebtZero does not operate a developer server for planner data and does not sell the debt information you enter. Technical information processed by Google components may be collected or shared with Google as described above.
Data retention and deletion
Planner data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Exported JSON backups remain wherever you chose to save them and must be deleted from that location separately.
DebtZero does not maintain a remote user account or a developer-hosted copy of your planner data. Technical data processed by Google is retained under Google's applicable policies.
Children's privacy
DebtZero is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made.
