Research Fellow Department of Materials EngineeringIndian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar
Sagar is currently a Research Fellow in the department of materials engineeering, IIT Gandhinagar. He is working with Prof. Amit Arora at the Advanced Materials Processing Research Group (AMPRG), IIT Gandhinagar. His research at AMPRG focused on thermodynamic and kinetic simulation of materials behaviour, computational alloy design (CALPHAD approach), metal additive manufacturing and high entropy alloys. He is also experienced in aluminum alloys, metal matrix composite development and solid state hydrogen storage. He is trained on JEOL JSM - 7900F Schottkey Field Emission Scanning Electron Microsope (FESEM) and is currectly assigned to handle operations of the Advanced Analytical SEM at Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF), IIT Ganndhinagar. He was a Gradute Teaching Fellow (GTF) for a year and also worked a teaching assistant for several courses at IIT Gandhinagar. As a GTF, he independently taught courses (MSE 210 & MSE 202) along with professors.
He received his masters degree (M.Tech) in Materials Science and Engineering and bachelor degree (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering. He received the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Fellow Award for the AY 2023-24 (SEM I) at IIT Gandhinagar for his exceptional performance and contributions in teaching as a selected GTF. He is also a University Gold Medalrecipient for securing the highest rank in the materials engineering department during his master's degree. He was one of the Grand Finalists of Smart India Hackathon 2019 for designing and developing solid state hydrogen storage technology prototype with his team.
