About me

I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Finance & Accounting area at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). Before joining IIMB, I was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Woxsen School of Business, Woxsen University, Hyderabad, India.

I hold a Doctoral Degree in Finance and Accounting area from the Indian Institute of Management Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. Prior to that I have a Master’s degree in Commerce with specialization in Finance from the St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata, University of Calcutta. Further, I have earned my Bachelor's Degree in Commerce with Honors in Accounting and Finance from the Goenka College of Commerce, University of Calcutta.

I have taught core and elective courses such as Financial and Managerial Accounting, Corporate Finance, Analysis of Financial Statements and Valuation at the Master's Degree level.

My current research interests are contemporary issues in accounting and corporate finance. Specifically, I am focusing on the role of creditor's rights on the investing, financing and dividend decisions of the Indian firms. My research also focusses on the policy issues and firm responses concerning the Insolvency and Bankruptcy codes.

In the past, I have researched and published in the areas of Energy Finance, Cryptocurrencies and Emerging Equity Markets. My research works have featured in several academic journals of international repute such as Economics Letters, Energy Economics, Journal of Futures Markets, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance, Annals of Operations Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, International Journal of Managerial Finance, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Finance Research Letters and others.
