Welcome to my homepage. I am Debaleena, currently a Statistics Fellow at European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). Before joining EORTC, I completed my Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from University of California, Riverside, USA. Both my Master's and Bachelor's degrees are in Statistics, from Presidency University and University of Calcutta, India, respectively.

The reason I chose to become a Statistician is because I thoroughly enjoy applying and developing relevant statistical methods to find solutions of complex research problems in medical and social sciences. It is absolutely intriguing to see how data can tell us a story, be it the development of a disease since the infection, effect of a treatment on human body, or the journey of a person's wellbeing through different life-challenges.

Other than research, I like mentoring my juniors and provide them guidance on their academic life. When not working, I like to go out in nature and take pictures of wildlife.
