Dear visitor, welcome to my homepage! I am Debaleena, currently an Assistant Research Professor of Biostatistics at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where I work in close collaboration with the Surgical Oncologists. I have spent over fifteen years of my life in the field of Statistics and fairly recently, I got involved in Oncology clinical trials while pursuing a Fellowship in Statistics at European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), in Brussels, Belgium.

I became a Statistician because I thoroughly enjoy applying and developing relevant statistical methods to find solutions of complex research problems in medical and social sciences. It is incredibly intriguing to see how data can tell us a story, be it the development of a disease since the infection, effect of a treatment on human body, or the journey of a person's wellbeing through different life-challenges.

Other than research, I like mentoring my juniors and provide them guidance on their academic life. When not working, I like to go out in nature, take pictures of wildlife, or simply walk through a scenic street.
