About Me

My name is Josh Deaton and this is my second year at Jordan High School. Prior to coming to Jordan, I spent four yeas teaching and coaching in Texas. My wife's name is Alyssa. It is her medical residency at UNC that brought us to North Carolina. We absolutely love it here! I am excited for the year and look forward to working with all of my students.

Note to Parents

I am here for your child. My job is to meet them where they are and help them improve from there. Please push your child to talk to me and ask questions when they need to. If anything every comes up, please tell them to speak with me in class. I enjoy speaking and working with parents. Always feel free to reach out to me when something comes up.

Best Way to Reach Me

EMAIL. Email is the best way to get in contact with me. You are always more than welcome to call, but I do not answer unknown numbers during class. If you would like to have a phone conversation, please email me and we can find a time that works. The same goes for parent meetings.

Parent Meetings

I require all students attend any parent/teacher meetings. All parent/teacher meetings need to be scheduled via email. I will not have a meeting with just parents, unless it is concerning personal issues. If that is the case, those meetings need to be scheduled through out counselors.

Parent Email List

I am more than happy to send emails to parents with general information for the class. I will send calendars, important dates, assignment reminders and more in these emails. If you would like to be put on the email list, just email and request it. Please be sure to put the emails you would like to reminder emails sent to.
