Dearest — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Our promise: dearest does not host your private memories. Your letters, photos, videos, and voice notes stay on your device and, if you enable it, in your personal iCloud. No ads. No selling memories. No AI training on private content.
What we don't collect. dearest has no accounts, no sign-ups, and no company servers storing your content. We cannot see, read, or access your letters, photos, videos, voice notes, or the people you add.
Where your memories are stored. Everything you create is saved on your iPhone. If you turn on iCloud Sync, your memories are also stored in your own iCloud account, governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy. We never receive a copy.
Your PIN. Your edit PIN is stored only as a secure, salted hash in your device's Keychain. It is never transmitted, never stored in readable form, and cannot be recovered by us — please keep it safe.
Purchases. dearest Plus subscriptions are processed by Apple. To validate purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous device identifier and purchase receipt — never your memories or personal content. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Exports and sharing. You can export your vault as a ZIP file or share individual memories at any time. Anything you share leaves the app only because you chose to share it.
Children. dearest is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes. If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new date.
