Poverty is a big problem in America, so we should increase the minimum wage and have Universal Basic Income (UBI). Increasing the minimum wage and UBI will both increase consumer spending because the poor have more money to spend. UBI will also cover the needs of housing assistance, and food stamps, so the government doesn’t have to give that to the low-income people anymore. You might wonder why low-income families having housing and food is any better than the government giving them housing and food, and that is the case because more people get involved and have to get paid if food stamps and housing assistance exist, such as real estate agents and grocers.
