COVID-19 has reached and impacted the lives of many individuals. It caused many to stay home, left many unemployed, and moved students to virtual learning. Many families were uncomfortable with sending their kids back to school with an average of 400 people testing positive weekly in schools. In order to demonstrate that it is safe to return to an in-person learning environment, Baltimore City Public Schools must install HEPA air filters and conduct rapid tests for students and staff.
“HEPA filters, for instance, are at least 99.97% efficient at capturing human-generated viral particles associated with COVID-19.”
“The virus that causes COVID-19 is approximately 0.125 micron (125 nanometers) in diameter. It falls squarely within the particle-size range that HEPA filters capture with extraordinary efficiency: 0.01 micron (10 nanometers) and above.”
