The music of the Grateful Dead has been a tremendous influence on me for overs 20 years, but my first Phish show was not until 2013 and I've been hooked ever since. Even though Scott and I went to different colleges in NC, we still remember embracing the music of the Grateful Dead and Phish for the first time during that experience. The beach is always a great place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the music of The Grateful Dead and Phish. In Episode, 6 we highlight a Dead show from 1971 where the boys were feeling some "Good Vibrations" and played alongside The Beach Boys at the Fillmore East. Scott takes us to Virginia Beach where Phish, in 1998, brought the crowd to a frenzy with a Terrapin Station encore that is a beautiful and touching tribute to the late Jerry Garcia.

"Produced from the camera-original 16mm negative film, this beautiful and powerful rendition of the entire Weather Report Suite was the Dead's final performance of this Wake Of The Flood masterpiece. A couple of nights after this performance, the Dead packed it in as far as touring went for almost two years. When they returned to the road in the Summer of 1976, they brought with them the final part of the Suite, Let It Grow, but left the first two parts behind. Thankfully this performance was filmed during production of The Grateful Dead Movie, as well as recorded to 16-track analog tape." - David Lemieux

Both bands shined when they played outside the US, and the 97 and 81 tours are no exception. The music was fantastic, and the history we uncovered was incredible. We also have a special guest, our good friend, and drummer Bryan Abernathy joining us. Sit Back, Tune In, and Enjoy!

Here is a YouTube video of Bobby and Jerry doing a short acustic set at the Melkweg in Amsterdam, Netherlands 10/11/1981. The boys would play this venue again a couple nights later in what was later named the "oops" shows." Here is some links to some background history on the these now infamous shows.
