those touched by the gods...
loki, the trickster god of chaos:
the god of chaos, loki, of norse origins, was once a god of regard. loved by many, hated just the same, but no doubt powerful. one often more aligned with his own goals and desires, loki could however, be petition if needed. whether or not he would answer, was another thing... and whether he would truly give you what you want, or twist it entirely for his own amusement... but, well, sometimes it was worth a shot. loki has a messy history and origin, lied to about his birth and the truth of his heritage, switching between fighting for odin's approval, or trying his best to upset his rule. this all leaded to, eventually, loki's capture and torture. years upon years, poison dripping into him, no escape... before finally something shifted.
since then, the god has been nowhere to be seen, at least to those that knew him. but there are a few on earth that know where to look, should they need his specific brand of godly chaos. but for the most part, very few really know that the witch that owns the strange little shop close to the new york city botanical gardens, is actually the trickster god.
selene:
also known as: luna, selûne, the moonmaiden
goddess of the moon, found in many different cultures under many different names. has affiliations with death and life in equal balance & has been missing for some time now. has the power to make graveminders, but these have become a very rare being she creates due to the process being a rather traumatic ones. they are meant to guide and watch over the dead and in particular, are tied to the veil and the other side.
avatar of selene: redacted.
the avatar of helios/the god-touched:
known to very few by his earthly name, elionas, but to most that would petition his aid, they might directly refer to him as helios. eli is well over 2000 years old, with his origins dating back to ancient greece where he was a prince of corinth until its fall when he was around 4 years old. elionas has gone through many different phases in his life, but his path was always meant to be this: to become a way for the greek god helios' powers and influence to remain even long after humans had fallen out of love and practising faith to the greek gods. elionas was granted unique powers making him god-touched. someone of unique, intense power, and an ability to offer his aid to those worthy of it that might petition him. like the god he represents, much of eli's power comes in upholding sworn oaths. he has the ability to grant many things in abundance to those that stay true to their paths in life, while also dealing punishment to those that break oaths and fall to the crueller natures of the world. while eli himself doesn't believe in or support factions such as heaven, he also doesn't truly side with those in hell either. he is someone truly neutral to the heavenly and hellish war, someone who fights for people and their freedoms and peace above all else.
the avatar of osiris/the immortal vessel:
known to few as julian/julius or more commonly dadga/dionysus/bacchus, his creation was and is the remaining gift of akasha. the late vampire queen and her husband enkil had worshiped the deity osiris, it was the desperation for family that offered them the opportunity. liviana - julian’s mother - would seek their approval to create the first seed of born vampires, it was only agreed that liviana could do this if she allowed her first born to become a vessel for osiris. julian’s birth would vow the god dormant in an immortal body until such time that julian would prove himself worthy to unlock all of his abilities. to provide proof that he was and is accepting of a balance needing to be kept. it should be noted that this did not happen until the late 1300’s, lucian was born with the power to be julian’s undoing as his grandmother had seen all of those centuries ago. befalling a curse, julian would be close to death and drawn into having to accept the balance of sacrifice and ‘possible’ death. lucian would be drawn into accepting this too, using a sword to make the acceptance final. despite being drawn into his daughter’s purgatory and waking a week later, julian would finally unlock all of his godly powers and thus be unable to die. it should be noted that amongst his many abilities, he currently sacrifices being scarred for defying the balance of life and death - this will only change should he give up his soul. his blood remains incredibly addictive and incredibly powerful, bidding life to those who consume enough of it and memories that would otherwise be gone.
the avatar of horus/the immortal vessel:
unknown to both julian trahern and lucian trahern, the family connection to the gods as mentioned above goes further than just being entangled with julian. his son, once lost and stolen and refound, once crucial to the 'resurrection' of julian, is actually an avatar for son of osiris, horus. lucian is this channel, a vessel for further godly power of his own with ties to protection, healing, the sky and sun and moon but of course with many of his own unique abilities and facets from his own being and life experience. lucian is a further balancing of the scales between life and death.
