Superman: No Place Like Home

• A young Clark Kent decides to leave Smallville and pursue his career in journalism in Metropolis. He also has a mysterious crystal from his ship, and he knows about his alien origins.

• Lois and Clark interview Lex Luther about the upcoming mayoral election and it was revealed that Lex remembered Clark from their time in Smallville. They interview Jefferson Pierce next and Lois let Clark take the lead because of how good he did with Lex. In the interview with Jefferson, Clark does a pretty good job and they meet at Bibbo’s Diner for a nice American meal as Jefferson says he is a man of the people.

• Lois sent Clark to go get her coffee and just at that moment a big toy robot machine started attacking downtown Metropolis. Jimmy and Lois tried to get close to take pictures and Jimmy fell to his doom but then Superman showed up and caught him and defeated the robot. Lois is determined to get the scoop on Superman.

• There was a mayor debate with Lex Luther and Jefferson that was interrupted by a hijacked phone signal of the Toyman saying that there was a brand new golden ticket toy robot that will give the winner $1 million if they find the right one. People are scrambling to find the winning toy.

• The toy is sold out, and Toyman hijacks the signal again to tell the people that the winner will be revealed at the same time as 1000 of them are going to blow up. It’s a test of people's greed, whether or not they dispose of the toy, at risk of dying. The daily plan sent out a broadcast warning of this bad news

• Superman goes around collecting all of the toys with bombs in them and Lois uses this to her advantage as she takes Jimmy’s toy to go to the roof and have Superman take it from her. She gives it to Superman in exchange for getting an interview later, and Jimmy gets a nice heroic picture of Superman.

• Superman tracks down Toyman and is going to bring him in but then Toyman starts fighting much better than expected and it’s revealed that he was actually Brainiac who decided to be a theatrical villain in order to lure out the heroic Kryptonian he knew was on Earth as one of its first modern-day costume crime fighters.  Braniac’s goal was to find and destroy Krypton's last survivor.

• Brainiac started destroying the diner in downtown Metropolis and Superman tried to break the machine, but it was shielded with some kryptonite so he could not. He ended up, destroying the host body of Brainiac and throwing it through the machine, destroying them both. Brainiac’s consciousness and artificial intelligence is still out there somewhere in the universe and a piece of kryptonite debris fell to the streets after the battle, and Lex Luther picked it up for study. 

• Clark goes and talks to his mom about the codex crystal and then he leaves to find the fortress of solitude in the Arctic.

• The election for mayor is revealed to be like Luther for the win. Obviously, he had something to do with rigging the election.

• Lois has her private talk with Superman. And he shows up late before they meet. She interviews him and understands that he is a good guy who is here to help. Superman is now out in the public.

• Clark Kent was trying to do some detective work on Batman for the Daily Planet and Batman runs into him and they talk. It’s basically established that they will have an uneasy but trusting alliance.
