JSA: Power Play
The JSA makes it to the German Castle, where Hitler and French roboticist T.O. Morrow are known to be. The JSA agrees on a mixed-tactical approach, making a diversion at the front gate while other members sneak in another way. Atom Smasher, Doctor Fate, Green Lantern, and Red Tornado make a violent destructive ruckus at the front gate, while Black Canary, Flash, Wildcat, and Hawkman try another way in.
T.O. and Hitler are informed of the disorder happening by a platoon of Axis forces but they are not worried, as their super-weapon is almost complete. Hitler’s view of the pure Arian race and belief of the Norse Gods being real, combined with T.O.’s resourcefulness, having kidnapped Brainwave from American custody is about to pay off. Brainwave possesses a certain techno-mystical know-how after being forced to work on the Creature Commandos for years. Combining all of their skills, they prepare to expose their test subject to his “treatment”. The Allied Forces have not made it easy for the Axis powers in the last few weeks and Hitler’s back is against the wall. Adolf’s hand-picked German soldier, Albrecht Krieger, will be exposed to a machine designed to draw strength from the Norse gods, much like Black Adam with the powers of the Greek SHAZAM.
Flash runs through the halls of the castle while the Axis soldiers are distracted by the heavy hitters at the front gate. In his reconnaissance, he happens upon the throne room of the castle, where Hitler and his scientist have their mystical machine. Flash cautiously peers around the corner and watches what unfolds. Krieger steps into the imposing ornately mechanical chamber as Brainwave activates the device. A gnarly sparkling indigo flow of energy then comes down from the sky accompanied by an aetherial groan as if an ancient power is being leached from the gods themselves. Flash watches on in fear before zipping off to find his other teammates, Black Canary and Wildcat in a hallway. He tells them, they might need to converge on the throne room. The machine ceases its process and out steps Krieger, but seems unchanged. That is, until Brainwave instructs him to utter the mantra “THOLV”. As he does, a bolt of lightning crashes through a stained glass window and devours his body. When the smoke clears, Krieger now resembles a very god himself with his physique and aura. Now under the moniker, Captain Nazi, he now has the capability to possess the might of Thor, vision of Heimdal, the wisdom of Odin, subterfuge of Loki, and tenacity of Valkyrie. Hitler is in awe of what stands before him, the perfect Arian specimen on his side.
Flash, Wildcat, and Black Canary enter and engage, trying to defeat Captain Nazi but he makes swift work of them. Hearing Canary’s call from the broken window, Hawkman then flies through and goes in for the attack. Captain Nazi catches Hawkman by the throat before he can strike but Hawkman still swings his mace into the body of Captain Nazi, significantly knocking him back. Captain Nazi scowls at Hawkman and bursts to reengage him but Hawkman provided Captain Nazi with another two-handed wallop from his mace in the gut. This causes Captain Nazi great pain, so much so that a trail of blood runs out of his mouth as he struggles to hold himself up. Captain Nazi then falls to his knees and his eyes glean with regret. He throws his hands up and says, “I surrender. You have bested me in combat I can not surpass.” Hitler furiously yells, “NINE!!!” witnessing his greatest weapon and last chance to win this war fail in front of his eyes. Hawkman approaches Captain Nazi to detain him while his teammates glance in the direction of Hitler and company. However, their glance quickly snaps back to their teammate, as out of nowhere, Captain Nazi punches a hole straight through the stomach of Hawkman. A bloody fist fully piercing his armour from through his back. Subterfuge of Loki, he never intended on to surrender. Nazi company present grins ear to ear as the JSA look on in horror as Hawkman’s body is slung off Captain Nazi’s hand with a look of disgust on his face as if he were nothing more important than dust on his hands. Canary lets out an Earth-shattering cry that Captain Nazi tanks as Hitler, T.O., and Brainwave notice the castle beginning to crumble around them. Hitler and Brainwave begin to retreat to a bunker for safety but T.O. Morrow’s hubris will not allow him to miss witnessing his creation making swift work of his enemies.
Flash says what they really need to do is take this action to the boys in the front. Captain Nazi overhears this and gets excited, responding, “Oh, you have brought stronger subjects for me to test my power? What a treat.” Captain Nazi bursts through the stone walls of the throne room to the other heroes fighting outside. Flash zips off following to help his teammates. Black Canary runs towards the door to join the fight as well but Wildcat grabs her arm and stops her, saying, “Are we just going to totally forget the fact that Adolf Hitler just ran down those stairs?!” Canary shakes her head clear so Wildcat and Black Canary run down to trail Hitler as the castle continues to crumble from Diana’s cry.
At the front gates, Captain Nazi slams into one of Lantern’s constructs first. A hard-fought battle ensues with Captain Nazi versus Green Lantern, Atom Smasher, Doctor Fate, Red Tornado, and Flash. Captain Nazi’s power stolen from the Greek gods is making short work of the heroes using their powers, even Doctor Fate is evenly matched. Red Tornado points out that what they are doing is useless and they need to find another way and Fate says his strong magical aura is making it hard for traditional mortals to make a dent. Flash says, Hawkman was doing a great job until Captain Nazi put a hole in his chest. The team is heartbroken to hear of their fallen teammate and Atom Smasher gets ANGRY, saying this one is for Hawkman, for Carter! Fate then considers why this might be and then it clicks. Doctor Fate asks Flash where the mace is and he points at the crumbling castle. Fate says the powerhouses will continue to distract Captain Nazi and asks if Flash thinks he can find the mace. Flash nervously laughs before saying, “no problem.”
Black Canary and Wildcat keep hustling to follow Hitler and Brainwave to their bunker but the obstacles of falling stones and enemy bullets make it difficult. Canary tries to shriek again at the enemy soldiers but Wildcat holds her mouth shut and says, “the last thing we need is something to make this place fall down any quicker.” Just then, a large chunk of castle bricks collapse between the Nazis and our heroes. Canary tells Wildcat to clear the bricks quick but Wildcat responds, “I may be strong but I’m no Atom Smasher, so get your Rosie the Ribbiter butt over here and help him move these bricks.” Canary does to make the long last go just a little quicker.
With the castle continuing to fall, Flash dodges and zooms through the corridors to get back into the throne room. He does eventually make it to the throne room but it’s in even worse condition than it was before. Sadly, he looks down at the dead body of his fallen comrade, but as he glances around the area to find the mace, he can’t find it. Then he notices, looking out of a crumbled hole in the wall with a crooked mad smile is T.O. Morrow. His pleasure coming from watching his biggest disappointment, Red Tornado, get the punishment he so rightfully deserves. Flash sees the mace held in his hands as he watches Captain Nazi’s might with pleasure. Flash asks, “hey, uh what do you have there.” T.O. responds through his thick acent, “Oh you think I did not notice the incredible properties of this primitive tool? Nothing can make a scratch on our soldier but this, this incredible allow, proves potentially useful.” Flash says, “Yeah, too bad it doesn’t belong to you!” Flash dashes forward towards Morrow but his hands extends out of the castle walls, waving the mace hundreds of feet over the rubble and chaos of the battlefield. Flash stops in his tracks, knowing that if the weapon gets dropped it will take time to find it, time that his team mates might not have against the god-like foe. T.O. tells Flash to run along now and join your team in trying not to die when, BANG. A shot goes off and T.O. looks down at his bleeding chest. The United States military forces, lead by Steve Strevor have arrived. T.O.’s consciousness fades as he wobbles over. Flash zips to grab Hawkman’s mace out of his hands before T.O. collapses. Steve Strevor says “it looks like we could lend a hand more usefully up here than down there, now where’s Hitler?” Flash tells them he ran down to a bunker somewhere and two of his team mates are in pursuit. They then split with the US forces making their way to the bunker and Flash returning to his allies with the mace.
Flash runs back down through the castle and delivers the mace to Doctor Fate. The Doctor examines it and confirms his suspicions were correct. Apparently, Hawkman’s mace is made of Nth metal, a rare and formidable alloy that possessed the property of rendering magical forces negligible. Doctor Fate tightened his fists, “We end this now,” he commanded. “We strike together.” Flash cracked his knuckles. “What’s the play, magic man?” Fate’s golden helm gleamed. “I will suppress his divine aura as much as possible, but it will not be enough on its own. Flash, you will draw his attention. Green Lantern, you must restrain him. Atom Smasher…” Fate turned to the towering hero, his voice heavy with purpose. “You will finish this.” Atom Smasher’s jaw tightened. He didn’t hesitate. “For Hawkman.” Captain Nazi smirked at them as if he could hear every word. “Ah, so you do have a strategy. I was beginning to think you enjoyed losing.” Flash zipped forward in a red-and-blue blur, weaving through the rubble, landing strike after strike across Captain Nazi’s body sharp blows to the ribs, a quick jab to the jaw, a high-speed whirlwind kick to the knee. They weren’t meant to hurt, only to distract, to keep the so-called god off balance. Captain Nazi swiped at him, but Flash was already gone, his taunting voice echoing around the battlefield. “Gotta say, for a guy built like a brick wall, you sure are slow!” The moment the villain turned toward him, Green Lantern made his move. A massive construct of glowing green chains erupted from his ring, wrapping around Captain Nazi’s limbs, locking down his arms and torso. “Bet you can appreciate the concept of freedom better now, huh?” Captain Nazi growled, struggling, the divine energy surging around him pushing against the restraints. The ground beneath him cracked from the sheer force of his resistance. “Fools,” he spat. “Nothing you do will hold me.” Doctor Fate hovered above them, his hands glowing with eldritch symbols as he chanted in an ancient, forgotten tongue. The villain’s thrashing weakened slightly, his stolen godhood sputtering. “Now, Atom Smasher!” Fate called. Towering over them all, Atom Smasher clenched Hawkman’s bloodstained mace in his massive hands. He gritted his teeth, raising the mace high above his head. The Nth metal weapon connected with Captain Nazi’s skull in a deafening CRACK. The glow in Captain Nazi’s eyes flickered and then faded. His entire body convulsed violently as a rippling shockwave surged through him, his godly essence rejecting him. The lightning that once blessed him now burned him. Cracks of golden energy shot through his skin, as if his very body was being torn apart. He let out one last, wretched cry before a final explosion of mystical energy sent his lifeless form crashing into the dirt. The JSA stood frozen, staring at the unmoving mortal body. The battlefield, once full of chaos, seemed eerily still.
Back in the stairwell tunnel to the bunker, Wildcat and Black Canary finish clearing enough rock to get through but they hear a hoard of footsteps approaching. They square up ready to battle before they realize allies appear. Steve Trevor smiles and asks them if they are ready to end the war. They press on until they reach the thick steel door of his bunker. Steve Trevor yells out identifying them as the United States military with the exit surrounded. There is no escape. Wildcat beats on the door, trying to break through the bolts when he pauses, listening to violent creaming in German. A loud bang is then heard from inside the chamber followed by a deafening silence. After a while, Brainwave's voice calls out from behind the door not to shoot. They are coming out. US soldiers stand ready with weapons drawn as the dense hatch slowly swings open. One by one they step out, all except Adolf Hitler, whose body lies motionless, face nearly unrecognizable. When the allied forces were at his door, he knew it was over and there was no escape. Hitler took his own life.

Countless family’s lives are rejuvenated as their sons, brothers, and husbands return from war. Most thankful of all, are the families of our heroes. After taking a heroic front page photo for the New York Times, the heroes are free to enter the crowd and mingle with those they fought for. Diana embraces her young daughter, acknowledging how much she has grown. She lifts her up and they are encompassed by the arms of her husband. Witnessing the deep familial love of Diana, Alan Scott stands next to his secret partner, Sam. Alan softly pines that he longs for the ability to have that with Sam. His partner then puts a warm hand on Alan’s shoulder and certifies that one day, they will. Atom Smasher’s uncle, Al Pratt congratulates him on a job well done and says there would be no point to scientific discoveries if they could now be applied. Jay Garrick's heart races as he is overjoyed by the jovial atmosphere. But what truly sends his heart into a frenzy is locking eyes with the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Jay says “Ah, to hell with it as she approaches him to talk, he places a hand on her hip and swiftly dips her in his secure arms, planting the first of many kisses on the lips of Joan. Their moment is captured by a local newspaper photographer as they do so. Red Tornado stands next to Doctor Fate and declares the human emotion of love still illudes him. Doctor Fate responds, “then I feel much anguish for you, my robot friend.” Doctor Fate proceeds to remove his helmet, stripping the co-influence of Nabu and leaving only Kent Nelson. Kent says. “I can’t wait to go home to my dear Enza after all of this. Too bad not everyone is able to reunite with the one they love.”
Cut to a hospital in Cairo Egypt. A woman in a hospital bed has her head in her hands as she sobs. Her husband comforts her as a shield attempting to protect her from the reality of their tragedy. The goom filled situation is interrupted as their Doctor enters the room. “Mr. and Mrs. Hastor,” the doctor begins. “I don’t know how else to say this, but a miracle has happened. Your baby. He breathes again.” Camera looks at the infant from above. The child tosses and turns in his incubator, and for the first time, opens his amber eye.
In the post-credit scene, Vandal Savage’s brooding Neanderthal body trudges through mounds of dust and stone. He happens upon a dead body in a blood-stained white lab coat. He kneels beside the body and lifts the limp corpse up by the wrist. “T.O. Morrow.” Vandal turns his head with an optimistic look. “Now I can’t have a good tool like this going to waste.” Vandal grips T.O.’s skull like a basketball before separating it from his shoulders. “After all, you were only good for your brain.”
