Green Lantern: Sinestro’s Might
Hal Jordan, Kilowag, and Tomar Re are off responding to a distress call from a village about a pirate plundering. When they get there, they talk to the villagers and discover that a Lantern has already shown up and killed a pirate. Tomar Re does a scan to confirm that it was a lantern ring that did this.
They go to the Guardians of the Universe and warn them about this troubling sign. The Guardians understand that it is a concern and they will watch it.
Later, we see more pirates on another planet, committing a crime and a different green lantern known as Green Man stops them. Then all of a sudden, Sinestro shows up and it is revealed that he is the one who has been killing all of the space pirates and trying to kill Kanjar Ro. Sinestro is now using his newly invented yellow lantern ring of fear. Sinestro has Kanjar Ro and some other pirates ready to kill when Green Man ultimately tries to stop him, but then Green Man ends up being killed by Sinestro and Kanjar Ro gets away. Before Green Man died he called for back up and the three green lanterns (Jordan, Tomar Re, and Kilowog) were dispatched to go help him, but when they got there they discovered he was dead. Their scans indicated it was a power ring once more.
Hal and the others go show the body to the Guardians, but they unknowingly interrupt a meeting between Sinestro and the Guardians. Sinestro went and self-reported that he created a new ring based on fear and that he killed Green Man for obstructing justice. The Guardians are torn and indecisive about whether or not they should consider turning the green lantern core into a yellow lantern core. They valued Sinestro as an excellent green lantern and may consider yellow lantern rings as an upgrade much like how they went from Manhunter droids to green lantern rings.
Hal Jordan strongly opposes this and tries to stop Sinestro then and there but then two other Green Lanterns show up to defend Sinestro and the fact that the Guardians need to make a decision. Sinestro and Hal have a little tussle but then it is stopped by the other lanterns.
Hal Jordan and his crew end up going to find Kanjar Ro again and they wait for him to show up to meet his trade partners. When Kanjar Ro gets there, Hal Jordan and his friends ambush and capture him to be arrested. Then all of a sudden, Sinestro shows up with the intent to kill. Sinestro is trying to kill Kanjar Ro and Hal Jordan is trying to stop him. It is at that moment when a few more green lanterns show up to try to assist the fight on Sinestro's side. It’s then a fight between several green lanterns with them divided between pro-willpower and pro-fear if the Guardians say so. Sinestro is about to defeat Hal Jordan and is about to kill Jordan because fear can be stronger than even the strongest will. As Hal struggles, the Guardians call the meeting to order and all lanterns are summoned to come back to Oa. Sinestro does not stop after hearing the call and still wants to end Hal. The people who were formally on Sinestro's side step in to defend Hal’s life and get Sinestro to stop. They all go back to the meeting on Oa.
At the meeting, it is stated that the Guardians want to hear from the green lanterns on whether or not they like the idea of using fear. Several people speak, including Sinestro and Hal Jordan, but the real nail in the coffin is when the former trainee of Sinestro, Katma Tui, speaks up. Katma Tui tells the story of how when she was being trained by Sinestro, he complained about how the ring could not kill and how he wished that he could use more powerful weapons instead. She also causes Sinestro to feel fear and admit that he was the reason that Abin Sur, his best friend, died. Sinestro then unleashed the fear of his own to make himself powerful and unpredictable. This type of emotion was rare for Sinestro and it made the fear ring’s energy even more potent. Sinestro started to attack all of the green lanterns and a big fight ensued.
Hal Jordan then knocks off Sinestro‘s ring and has him down and out for the count but Sinestro mocks how Hal cannot kill him with a green lantern ring. Jordan is about to fully arrest him in but then a Guardian of the Universe steps forward and gives the fear ring back to Sinestro and tells him to leave and make more yellow lanterns. That rouge Guardian then guardian blows himself up with willpower energy. All of the green lanterns create a powerful shield around the Guardian before he blows up to help save the lives of the rest of the guardians. Sinestro got away, and the Guardians declare him the number one most wanted criminal in the galaxy.
In the last scene, we see a scary alien, known as Arkillo, being given the yellow lantern ring and an opportunity to join the Sinestro corps.
