• When Barry Allen was a boy, he ran into the kitchen with his dad, holding his mother and surrounded by thunder and lightning. His mom died but before she died, she told him to run. Barry became a forensic investigator inspired by his innocent dad being put away. One day while working in a lab, mixing up his usual chemicals, a bolt of lightning crashed through the window and knocked him into the chemicals, and in the morning he woke up with extreme super speed.

• Barry talked to his dad and promised he was going to free him. He got a call from Work and it looks like someone was trying to break into the bank with extremely cold ice. After some tests, Barry found out that the ice was applied at near absolutely zero.

• Barry went on a date with Cat Grant and it was to the movies but he kept flashing back and forth to look at the ice of a new crime scene. When all of a sudden, Captain Cold came back to finish his crime and froze Joe West as well as Barry then stole big diamonds.

• Joe got rushed to the hospital but they thought it was Superman. Barry is able to realize that the diamonds are the reason why the cold gun can work and he is figuring out how to reverse engineer the process and a new suit.

• Cops steak out jewelry stores, waiting for Captain Cold to strike again, and they try to ambush him but they all get frozen with his new and improved cold gun. The Flash shows up in a new suit and is frozen but then Joe helps him to escape and is able to destroy the gun and freeze Captain Cold in a block of ice before getting arrested.

• Cat Grant then goes onto the scene live and debuts the Flash with the help of Joe West as Central City's very own protecting superhero.

• Barry goes to the jail and tells his dad that he is the Flash. Iris also catches Barry and asks him on a date to avoid babysitting her little nephew. It’s revealed that Barry’s work with the heat gun analysis has helped the police develop a Heatwave response agent if anything like Captain Cold happens again. Lastly, Jay Garrick shows up in Barry Allen’s lab and tells him what the speed force is and that he’s around if he ever needs a mentor.
