Important Information for Parents Interested in Driving for upcoming Field Trips:
In order to drive for field trips this year, please follow these steps.
1. To start your Criminal Records Check, you must first fill out THIS FORM from SD36.
2. You will receive a follow up email (typically we've found it's been the next business day.) This email's subject is "ACTION REQUIRED: Criminal Record Check" and it comes from a gov.bc.ca email address. It will include a link that allows you to complete the Criminal Record Check Forms online.
3. Once you submit the official CRC forms, you will receive a confirmation email. It is important that you save this email as it contains the link you will use to check the status of your application.
PLEASE NOTE ...
THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO CONTINUE THIS PROCESS AFTER YOU RECEIVE THE FOLLOW-UP EMAIL IS TO DO SO USING YOUR BC SERVICES CARD. IF YOU DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE ONE, PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE APP, CREATE AN ACCOUNT, AND VERIFY YOUR IDENTITY.
4. You will NOT receive another email when your Criminal Record Check is approved. The school will be given information on who has been approved through this process.
This Criminal Record Check will remain valid for 5 years.
A drivers' abstract is a record of an individual's five-year driving history. BC residents can quickly and easily obtain a free copy of their drivers' abstract at:
https://www.icbc.com/driver-licensing/getting-licensed/Your-driving-record
and then click on Get your Driving Records
Enter in your Name and BC driver's licence number and select "Personal driving record".
ICBC will send the drivers' abstract in a PDF to your specified email address which you may print and submit to the school office.
This form requests details about your driver's licence and insurance. It ensures that all volunteer drivers meet the necessary safety requirements. This form can be found at the office. Once completed, this paperwork will remain on file and are valid for the entire school year.
You can also find the form online here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/19zyHCbXErN_RYepePsQORGjBT8jEC5Lp/view?usp=sharing
All volunteer drivers are also required to present the following documents at the school office before their first field trip of the year:
- Your Driver's Licence
- A copy of your current Vehicle Insurance Paperwork
Thank you in advance for your willingness to support our students and help make these exciting field studies possible. Your involvement is greatly appreciated and truly enhances the educational experience for all students. If you have any questions, please contact the school office. (604) 576-1381
