• Kits should be stored between 2 - 30˚C.

• Do not use the kits beyond the expiration date;

• Do not use cartridges if the packaging is damaged.

• The BD Veritor^MD device should be stored between 15 - 30°C with a relative ambient humidity of < 85 %, without condensation.

• The test should be performed in a dedicated area and at a minimum distance of two meters from other workers and patients.

• The BD Veritor^MD device should be placed on a flat, dry and stable surface away from direct sunlight or strong light.

• Wearing PPE as recommended by the PCI is mandatory.

• Samples should be considered potentionally infectious.Viruses are not inactivated.

• The work surface must be cleaned and decontaminated before and after the work shift, using a disinfectant wipe.

• Waste is disposed of in accordance with the biological waste disposal protocol. The swab, tube and device should be disposed of in a biological waste bag.

• The extraction buffer contains < 0,1 % sodium azide as a preservative which may be toxic if swallowed.

Second step : Certification test

The second step is to pass the certification test. To perform the test, click the link above. The required passing grade is 80%. The system will then send a certificate by e-mail proving that you have obtained your certification (Make sure to look in your junk mail). The certification is valid for one year.

The DCML-Volet EBMD team will contact you by email when the certification has expired in order to renew the competency.
