When you arrive, you will check in and receive a booklet that guides you through free health screenings and activity stations. Staff and students will be at every station to help you. At the end, you will receive a personalized summary of your results and local resources.
Stations include, activities and screenings such as:

All screenings are for educational purposes only and are not a substitute for medical care. Results are private and confidential.
✅ Wear closed-toe athletic shoes (sneakers are ideal)
✅ Wear comfortable, layered clothing that allows sleeve access for blood pressure readings
✅ Bring a list of your current medications
✅ Bring your eyeglasses if applicable
✅ Plan for about 1.5 hours
Groups arriving by bus: Please be sure to register and note your estimated arrival time. Your group coordinator will receive arrival time and check-in instructions before the event.
Q: Is the event really free?
A: Yes, completely free. There is no cost to attend, no tickets, and no donations required. All screenings, activities, swag bags, and snacks are provided at no charge.
Q: Do I need to register in advance?
A: Registration is strongly encouraged so we can plan for your arrival, but walk-ins are welcome. We request that large groups register in advance so we can be prepared to welcome the participants.
Q: Can I bring a family member or friend?
A: Absolutely. Family members and caregivers are welcome to accompany participants. Please note the number of people in your group when you register.
Q: How long does it take?
A: We encourage participants to complete all stations, which should take around 1.5 hours. You move at your own pace, and there is no pressure to rush.
Q: Do I need to complete all the stations?
A: You are encouraged to complete all stations, but you are never required to participate in any screening you are not comfortable with.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear closed-toe athletic shoes (sneakers) and comfortable, layered clothing. You will need to roll up a sleeve for blood pressure, so avoid tight or hard-to-roll sleeves.
Q: Should I bring my medications?
A: Yes, bring a list of your current medications, which may be reviewed at one of the stations. This review is educational and confidential.
Q: Is the building accessible for wheelchairs and walkers?
A: Yes, it is accessible for wheelchairs and walkers.
Q: Will there be seating available?
A: Yes. Seating is available throughout the event space and at every station. You do not need to stand for long periods at any point during the event.
Q: I am a group coordinator at a dining site or senior center. How do I sign up my group?
A: Use the same sign-up form and select "Group" when asked. You will be asked for your organization's name, estimated group size, and when you will be arriving. A member of the FPAW team will follow up with you directly to confirm your arrival time and logistics regarding transportation.
Q: Are the screenings the same as seeing a doctor?
A: No. All screenings are for educational purposes only and are not formal medical evaluations. They are designed to help you learn about your fall risk and connect you with resources. Results should not replace a visit to your doctor.
Q: Is my information kept private?
A: Yes. All information you share is confidential. You will be asked to sign a release form at check-in.
Q: Is there parking?
A: There is parking at union square (below the building) with varying rates as well as paid street parking. There is no free, on-site parking provided.
