About the Seminar

The seminar will focus on the role played by diet and nutrition in health and disease as these are the vital ingredients for healthier and prosperous world. The seminar will also try to assess the hazards and risks associated with consumption of contaminated food. This seminar will benefit the faculty by increasing their knowledge base and generating awareness about food safety and nutrition practices prevalent in our society and understanding the ways to improve the current practices. This process shall thus benefit the students of these faculties by in turn improving their understanding and motivating them towards the healthier practices for a safety conscious society. The agenda of the seminar is broad and we are conscious that there are gaps in knowledge among the faculties and students. An expert outlook is needed to answer questions of direct relevance to the food safety and nutrition.

The seminar is aimed to gather international experts in this area of immense importance for Biotechnology and related organizations from India and abroad. Eminent speakers will deliver lectures in this occasion. We desire to make this forum for effective interaction & exchange of ideas amongst the alumni, present students, and members of the faculty as well as distinguished participants from Academics, industries, health & other professionals. The experts addressing various issues and aspects of Food safety and Nutrition will go a long way in helping academics and industry to strike a balance between the twin objectives of improving the understanding in the relevant field and creating awareness about food safety and nutrition issues among the participants.

Who is attending the seminar?

Approximately 250 participants from academics, research, and health profession working in the field of biotechnology, microbiology, food safety, neutraceuticals, health sciences and other allied fields will be participating in this seminar. Faculty members, students of under-graduate and post-graduate courses, research fellows, delegates and other distinguished personnel will be attending this seminar.

Duration of the Seminar

This is a One-Day program scheduled on 23rd September, 2017 (Saturday) and will be conducted in different sessions from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm on the day.

CALL FOR Concept notes

Concept notes are invited from the Academicians, Practitioners, Research Scholars and Students on the topics related to the below mentioned themes. Authors of selected concept note would be given an opportunity to present their ideas during technical presentation session on the day of the Seminar.

  • After the presentation, ten best concept notes will be awarded special certificate and prizes.

The concept note should include a description of the proposed research question/ concept / methods along with anticipated risk and challenges to the successful implementation of the concept and strategies to address them.

Concept note shall be accompanied by a brief profile of the author indicating his/ her name, University/Organization/Institution, Email ID, contact number and office address.
