DayPilot ("DayPilot", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the DayPilot mobile application (the "App").
DayPilot is designed as a local-first productivity application. The App does not require you to create a DayPilot account, and information you create for the App's core productivity features is stored locally on your device.
By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information You Create in the App
DayPilot does not require registration or a DayPilot account for its core productivity features.
Depending on the features you use, you may create or enter information such as:
a.Tasks and task details
b.Task steps
c.Reminder times and durations
d.Categories
e.Notes
f.Images attached to tasks
g.Audio attached to tasks
h.Alarm settings
i.Focus session information
j.Mood records
k.Progress information
l.App settings and notification preferences
This information is stored locally on your device.
DayPilot does not upload or remotely store this locally created App data on DayPilot's servers.
2. Local Data Storage
DayPilot uses local device storage for the productivity information you create and manage in the App.
This includes, where applicable:
a.Tasks
b.Task steps
c.Notes
d.Images
e.Audio
f.Alarms
g.Mood records
h.Progress information
i.App settings
This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to DayPilot's servers for remote storage.
If you delete information within the App, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App, locally stored information may be removed from your device according to Android's storage behavior.
DayPilot does not provide remote cloud storage or account-based synchronization for this locally stored information.
3. Gmail and Google Account Data
The Mail feature is optional.
If you choose to use Mail, DayPilot allows you to connect a Gmail account through Google's authorization system.
Depending on the Gmail functionality you use and the permissions you authorize, DayPilot may access Google user data necessary to provide features such as:
a.Reading emails
b.Sending emails
c.Replying to emails
d.Managing stars
e.Working with drafts
f.Other basic email functionality provided by the App
DayPilot does not support deleting emails.
Use of Google User Data
Google user data accessed through Google APIs is used only to provide the Gmail functionality requested by you.
DayPilot does not sell, rent, or use Google user data for advertising.
DayPilot does not use Google user data to develop, train, or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
DayPilot does not use Google user data for purposes unrelated to providing the Gmail functionality requested by you.
DayPilot does not use Google user data as a general-purpose remote data store.
Gmail Data Processing
When you use the Mail feature, Gmail data is processed only as necessary to provide the email functionality you request.
Where possible, information required for the requested Gmail operation is processed within the App and is not stored on DayPilot's remote servers.
Gmail data is not used for behavioral advertising, profiling, or unrelated services.
Gmail Authorization
Connecting Gmail is optional.
You can choose not to use the Mail feature and therefore not connect a Google account.
You may revoke DayPilot's access to your Google account through your Google Account settings.
Your use of Gmail through DayPilot is also subject to Google's applicable terms and policies.
4. AI-Assisted Features
DayPilot provides optional AI-assisted features for certain productivity functions.
These features currently include:
a.Generating task steps
b.Assisting with email writing
AI features are only activated when you actively request them.
AI Processing
When you use an AI feature, the information necessary to process your specific request is sent to OpenAI, our AI service provider.
OpenAI processes the request and returns the generated result to DayPilot.
DayPilot does not intentionally retain your AI requests or generated responses on its own remote servers after the requested processing has been completed.
DayPilot does not use your AI requests, Google user data, or AI-generated responses to train or develop generalized AI models.
AI processing does not occur unless you choose to use an AI-assisted feature.
AI-Assisted Task Planning
When you request AI assistance for a task, information necessary to understand the task and generate the requested steps may be sent to OpenAI.
The information is used to generate the requested task assistance and the resulting response is returned to the App.
AI-Assisted Email Writing
When you request AI assistance with an email, information necessary to generate the requested email content may be sent to OpenAI.
This processing occurs only after you actively request AI assistance.
DayPilot does not use Gmail data obtained through Google APIs for unrelated AI purposes, advertising, or model training.
5. Accessibility Service
DayPilot optionally uses Android's Accessibility Service to provide its Focus feature.
The Accessibility Service is used only when you enable and use the Focus feature that requires it.
During an active Focus session, DayPilot uses accessibility information to determine whether you have left the Focus screen for approximately three seconds.
If you leave the Focus screen for approximately three seconds, DayPilot provides a reminder. You can choose to return to DayPilot or continue away from the Focus screen.
Each Focus session provides this reminder no more than once.
How Accessibility Information Is Used
Accessibility information is used only to provide the Focus functionality described above.
DayPilot does not use the Accessibility Service to:
a.Read the contents of other applications for unrelated purposes
b.Collect passwords or authentication information
c.Collect unrelated personal information from other applications
d.Store other applications' content on DayPilot's servers
e.Send other applications' content to third parties for unrelated purposes
f.Block or disable other applications
g.Prevent you from leaving or using other applications
h.Change Android system settings without your action
The Accessibility Service does not continuously transmit the contents of other applications to DayPilot.
You can enable or disable Accessibility Service access through Android system settings.
6. Alarms and Full-Screen Notifications
DayPilot provides an alarm feature that may use Android's full-screen notification capability.
The full-screen notification capability is used specifically to display scheduled alarms prominently when an alarm is triggered.
It is used for the App's alarm functionality and is not used for advertising or unrelated notifications.
7. Notifications
DayPilot may use Android notifications to provide features you choose to use, including:
a.Alarms
b.Task reminders
c.Other relevant App notifications
You can manage notification permissions and notification preferences through Android system settings and the App's available settings.
8. Information We Do Not Store on DayPilot Servers
DayPilot does not require a DayPilot account and does not maintain a remote database for storing information you create for the App's core productivity features.
This includes:
a.Tasks
b.Task steps
c.Notes
d.Images
e.Audio
f.Alarms
g.Mood records
h.Progress information
i.App settings
This information is stored locally on your device.
Certain information may temporarily leave your device when you actively use a feature that requires a third-party service, such as Gmail or an AI-assisted feature. Such processing is limited to providing the functionality you requested.
9. Third-Party Services
DayPilot uses or integrates with third-party services only where necessary to provide specific features.
Google services are used to authorize access to Gmail when you choose to use the Mail feature.
Gmail data accessed through Google APIs is used to provide the Gmail functionality requested by you.
OpenAI
OpenAI is used as the AI service provider for DayPilot's optional AI-assisted features.
When you actively use an AI feature, the information necessary to process your request is sent to OpenAI and the resulting response is returned to the App.
DayPilot does not intentionally retain these AI requests or responses on its own remote servers after processing.
Third-party services may process information in accordance with their applicable terms and privacy policies.
10. Data Sharing
DayPilot does not sell or rent your personal information.
DayPilot does not share your locally stored App data with third parties for advertising or unrelated purposes.
Information may be transmitted to a third-party service when necessary to provide a feature you actively choose to use.
For example:
a.Gmail data is accessed through Google APIs when you use the Mail feature.
b.Information required for an AI request is sent to OpenAI when you use an AI-assisted feature.
DayPilot does not use your information for behavioral advertising.
11. Data Retention
DayPilot does not maintain a remote account or general-purpose remote database for your locally created App data.
Your local App data remains on your device until you delete it, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.
DayPilot does not intentionally retain AI requests or AI-generated responses on its own remote servers after processing.
DayPilot does not retain Gmail data on its remote servers for general storage.
12. Data Security
DayPilot takes reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App.
Because most DayPilot information is stored locally, the security of your device, operating system, screen lock, and other device security controls is also important for protecting your information.
Information transmitted to third-party services when you actively use their related features is handled through the applicable service infrastructure.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Your Choices and Controls
You control whether to use optional features that require additional access or external processing.
You can choose whether to:
a.Connect your Gmail account
b.Use AI-assisted features
c.Enable the Accessibility Service for Focus
d.Allow notifications
You can revoke Gmail access through your Google Account settings.
You can disable Accessibility Service access through Android system settings.
You can manage notification permissions through Android system settings.
14. Children's Privacy
DayPilot is a general productivity application and is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13.
DayPilot does not require users to create an account.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through a DayPilot account.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our services, or applicable requirements.
If we make material changes, we may update the Effective Date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.
You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
