SmartCodies ("we," "our," or "us") operates the DayCounter mobile application (the "Application" or "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle, collect, and protect your information when you use DayCounter.
By installing or using DayCounter, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
A. User-Created Content (Milestones & Events)
Local Storage Only: All event details, milestone titles, dates, notes, and custom color preferences that you create in DayCounter are stored locally on your device.
We do not transmit, upload, sell, or store your personal milestones, memories, or notes on any external servers or databases.
B. Automatically Collected Technical Data
To ensure the app operates reliably, crashes are diagnosed quickly, and performance is optimized, third-party service providers integrated into the App may automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information, such as:
Device model, manufacturer, and operating system version
Unique device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID)
IP address (coarse location data)
App crash logs and diagnostic metrics
App engagement metrics (e.g., screens visited, feature interactions)
DayCounter utilizes reputable third-party services provided by Google to support analytics, app stability, remote configurations, in-app advertising, and in-app billing. These services may collect information used to identify you or your device according to their respective privacy policies:
Google Play Services
Used for essential core app services and platform integration.
Google AdMob (Mobile Ads SDK)
Used to serve advertisements (Banner, Interstitial, Native, and App Open ads) to free-tier users.
AdMob may use device advertising identifiers (GAID) and cookies/device data to display personalized or non-personalized ads in compliance with user consent.
Google Analytics for Firebase
Used to understand app usage patterns, retention, and feature engagement to improve user experience.
Firebase Crashlytics
Used to monitor, diagnose, and fix app stability issues and crashes in real time.
Firebase Remote Config
Used to dynamically adjust app settings, feature availability, and ad parameters without requiring a new app release.
Google Play In-App Billing
If you purchase the one-time DayCounter PRO upgrade (day_counter_premium), all financial transactions and payment details (such as credit card numbers and billing addresses) are processed directly and securely by Google Play. We do not receive, process, or store your payment details.
DayCounter offers an optional one-time purchase: DayCounter PRO (day_counter_premium).
Purchasing PRO permanently removes all advertisements (Banner, Native, Interstitial, and App Open ads) and unlocks premium features such as unlimited milestone tracking and custom themes.
Purchase verification and receipt tokens are managed via the official Google Play Billing Library.
DayCounter is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Your Events: Because your event and milestone data is stored exclusively on your device, you can delete individual events at any time within the app, or delete all data completely by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling the App.
Diagnostic & Analytics Data: Retained by Google Analytics and Crashlytics in aggregated, anonymized form according to Google’s standard data retention schedules (typically 2 to 14 months).
We value your trust in using DayCounter. While no method of electronic transmission or mobile storage is 100% secure, we do not store sensitive personal information on external servers, and all integrated third-party Google SDKs use industry-standard HTTPS encryption.
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates, legal requirements, or changes to our practices. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
