Academic Advisor
On January 13, 2023, I and other friends met with our academic advisor, Mr. Anwar Ayob, for an interview and some advice was given by him. Before starting the interview, I introduced myself to Mr. Anuar, and I am a first-year student in the Fine Arts program. For this meeting, Mr. Anuar only gave some advice to us, the first-year students, about following the study plan or plan of study to enable the students to graduate on time. He also advised every student to be diligent and clever in dividing study time and completing assignments when students are active in activity programmes organised by the university.
Mental Health
Signs of mental health problems are irritability, less lethargy, severe anxiety, wanting to commit suicide, and others. As a result, those around a person should not take a person’s mental health for granted. Mental health does not depend on a person’s age and often affects teenagers. To deal with mental illness, we must identify it and talk to people we can trust. In addition, we can also ask for help motivating us from an expert. Positive thoughts, positive conversations, and positive feelings will give you a peaceful life. To maintain mental health, we need to stay away from things that are negative and discourage ourselves. The best way to maintain balance is to try to make ourselves a priority, which is as easy to say as it is to do. Start by asking yourself how you define balance and self-care. Self-care is physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, social, and financial care.
Career and Alumni Talk
For the soft skills and basic volunteerism class week, students gathered to attend the career and alumni talk programme presented by three people who are successful in their chosen field.
In this program, they give words that can inspire students to continue their success in learning and be brave in trying something new and challenging themselves. In the career and alumni talk, he also gave some tips on finding a place for an internship. Before the student enters the internship, they advise the student to find information about the place for the internship, such as the background of the company, which is when the company was established and what jobs are provided by the company. Students are also advised to try something new and are strongly encouraged to choose an internship in the field they are studying. This gives students spirit and inspiration for finding success in the world of work later.
What I was able to learn in this career programme and alumni talk is how we strive to succeed and never give up in finding sustenance.
Faca Family Day
For this week’s soft skills and volunteerism class, which is on 11.1.2023, the faculty has made a Faca Family Day program, and those involved are all students of the Applied and Creative Arts Faculty who are taking the subject soft skills and volunteerism.
Faca Family Day has been enlivened with various game activities such as what time Datuk Harimau, Ting-ting, Konda-Kondi, Congkak, Galah Panjang, Batu Seremban, Stick Game, and others. This game activity aims to bring back the childhood of all students, and we do not want the game to be forgotten even in today’s technological age. Faca Family Day also aims to bring back the excitement after COVID-19 hit the world, and outdoor activities are not allowed. Therefore, this programme has a positive impact on all students who can get to know all students at the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts.
