As a result, whenever someone becomes mentally ill, it is given a superstitious misinterpretation of jinn-ghosts, sorcery, etc. Without giving proper treatment to the patient for his disease, various so-called uncertified resorted to national superstitions. As a result, the patient's mental state worsens. At one stage the patient's normal life is severely disrupted.
In Bangladesh, a number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are working on mental health, including some government mental hospitals at the capital and district city levels. In addition, the National Institute of Mental Health is working to create mental health awareness across the country.
