Why do we stop asking why?

I like to ask questions. I don't think I ever left that phase of childhood where you just keep asking 'Why?' repeatedly. 

Do people stop asking why because they think they have discovered the answer or because they have given up on ever getting one?

Do you stop asking questions because you grow old or do you grow old because you stop asking questions?
