My name is David Ceresne, and I am an entrepreneur and business owner who is looking to change the world one action at a time.
Since I was young, I have always known that I was destined to work for myself. As the son of two successful entrepreneurs, it always seemed clear to me that I was never going to end up climbing the corporate ladder. Being an independent thinker, I’ve always been driven by the concept of freedom, but as I got older, I realized that freedom doesn’t come easy. I knew that if I wanted to have the freedom to live my life on my own terms, I would need to make decisions that would support that vision for the future. In my mind, that always came down to business.
Throughout the years, I have had tried my hand at a variety of businesses across various industries. Some were successful, and some weren’t. Growing up, I was often upset when I failed, but with time, I realized that failure really is the only way forward. From my failures, I learned to be humble—but I also learned that I could keep pushing forward. While success might not be around every corner, you might be surprised by how many places it can hide.
By twenty-nine, I was running a business in e-commerce that was proving to be wildly successful. It worked well, continuing to grow, and it actually opened the door for my current endeavor in real estate. Now, I’m the proud founder of HH Group of Companies, which focuses on providing incredible vacation rental opportunities for people around the world. Already, we manage several short-term rental vacation properties—and it all began with one little ski chalet.
In 2017, I purchased a ski chalet with the intent of keeping it for personal use. After I purchased it, I realized that there was actually high potential for a business model there, and with that realization, an idea formed. With sites like Airbnb on the rise, it seemed like my ski chalet could actually make me some money. I jumped right in, renting it out, and I have only slept there a handful of times in total since.
During my time as an independent business owner, I learned that if you want to grow a business, you need to be open to risk. Before you can ever be successful, you have to be willing to take a chance, and as I explored rental properties and continued to grow my knowledge about real estate, business, and economics, I decided that taking a new risk was in order.
HH Group of Companies is exploring a new venture, which we lovingly call our treehouse project. This project is a one-of-a-kind treehouse experience that is unlike any other. With 50 units in total, we are able to combine world-class nature, architecture, and luxury together to create an experience that our guests will never forget.
I couldn’t be more excited about this project, but I know that there will always be a new project for me, and this is just one of many. Even as a child, I was always coming up with business ideas and speculating about the economy. I look forward to seeing what other opportunities I will find and what industries I will influence.
