Welcome. I am a political scientist finishing my PhD in Comparative Politics at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon (ICS-UL), supported by a PhD Fellowship from FCT — Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
My research focuses on comparative politics, populism, nationalism, the radical right and political theory. I have conducted fieldwork and research stays in Australia and Spain, including as a Visiting Researcher at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and have been a researcher at the Observatory of the Quality of Democracy at ICS-UL. I have published articles in peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes and encyclopaedias, and I have co-edited two books on Portuguese politics and democracy.
Alongside my academic work, I contribute regularly to public debate as a guest columnist and political commentator, with pieces and appearances in national and international media. I also provide political analysis and advisory services for public and private sector clients, drawing on both my academic expertise and a prior career in management consulting and business management.
On this website, you will find information about my research and publications, opinion articles, media commentary, and advisory services. You can also visit my Google Scholar, ResearchGate and LinkedIn profiles, and my blog Ensaios Improváveis.
